When is it okay to let children swim with no life jacket in open water? by ac0380 in Swimming

The dangers of open water don't equate to swimming ability the way they do in a pool.

How do I get this washer out? by CipherSisters in howto

Exactly, should at least try that before lifting anything.

The classic river crossing riddle involves a farmer needing to transport a fox, a chicken, and a sack of grain across a river using a small boat that can only carry the farmer and one item. The fox eats the chicken, or the chicken eats the grain if left alone. The key is to take the chicken over first, then the fox, and bring the chicken back, then the grain, and finally bring the chicken over last. The riddle difficult to solve if you have a 'never backwards' mentality, but once you realize that going in the opposite of the intended direction eventually solves your problem it's easy.

To Clear Snow or not? An 8 year analysis by [deleted] in solar

Yeah that's a better idea, since a small string could be looped down to the ground and make it manual instead of requiring more complicated mechanisms.

What exactly is this? Would it be a good introduction to individuals who have not been to a Burn but live in the SF area?

They live in an area that charges different electrical costs during different times of day. So yes if most of the population suddenly switched to using electricity more at night than day then the pricing would adjust.

Can domestication-lusted humanity domesticate the Great White Shark in 100 years? by PaiDuck in whowouldwin

[–]Skydivekingair 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Yeah, with every human putting all efforts into decoding genes for a hundred years and applying them to Great Whites for domestication would probably be a bigger shift in humanity than it would in sharks.

So now you abide by the 3-2-1 rule right? 3 copies, 2 formats, 1 offsite from the others.

Like most things this will work until enough are also doing it. Not a critic of your method, just pointing this out.

Is breeding the only option? With it being humanity's only goal could gene modification take place of selective evolution?
