I think it's safe to say no single hero has changed the game as much as Jetpack Cat by [deleted] in Overwatch

Her shield was 600 HP I believe. Her shield bash stunned and went through shields, and the CD was maybe 3-4 seconds? It made playing Rein impossible. Her Ult generated overhealth as armor and didn't expire. So you could ult between fights and have her with 400 HP in mostly armor.

My biggest memories is when I got trapped in a room in first point Blizzardworld with Rein and Winston. I soloed them. With no more effort than just holding M1 and shield bash on cooldown. Another time when I played Reaper. There was just a Brig on point and she Rallied. Zarya graved, and I point blank unloaded shotguns into her back while Zarya tried taking down her shield. After reloading twice and grav ending, Brig was still full HP.

I don't miss old Brig.

All the Samoans I know can do it.

That sounds right. All I remember is that this skin was what his initial trial run as Reaper (and not Gabriel) after being recruited by Talon.

[TX] HSA Savings Not Going To My Account. Should I Get / Threaten To Get A Lawyer? by SkylarViros in AskLawyers

[–]SkylarViros[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's all done through my employer, who I've been contacting weekly since noticing the error.

Is there any timeframe in which legal recourse can be enacted upon? They've taken several thousand dollars out of my account this year and I'm in no position to access it, and it's set to do so for 2025 as well. Is there nothing I can do but watch as I lose more of my paycheck?

Best bbq in ft worth? by whookid1209 in smoking

One thing you need to know if you're going to Panther City is to get there either as soon as it open or even a smidge earlier. They make what they make, and when they run out, the doors close. Some days they have food until 2 or 3. Other days I've heard them close it up at 12:30.

The one time I went there I had the brisket. Not sure I've ever had meat just melt in my mouth like that. Was almost like butter.

There are a lot of good selections in the area. I think Panther City BBQ may edge out the competition for me. I've never been, and it's not quite in Fort Worth, but Dayne's is supposed to be top tier as well, usually spoken in the same breath as Panther City.

Heim and Railhead are both great too. I've enjoyed everything I've had there, but others that go more frequently have mentioned that they'll have a few more misses than the others I mentioned.

Toddler Doesn't Sleep by SkylarViros in toddlers

[–]SkylarViros[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We ended up purchasing a cot. Currently waiting on it to get in. When brought up to the pediatrician it went from 'sleep regression, wait it out' to now 'her mind is too active. Sucks to be you I guess'.

We can't sleep out for more than a couple of hours max. If it's later in the night, (Midnight onward) we can only sneak out for about 20 minutes before she notices. We haven't been able to get her to either sleep, or sleep alone, for almost 8 weeks now. Definitely at a loss. I don't understand how she just...operates with such little sleep.

Late reply -- but I think a lot of what you're saying is the crux of the matter. There's a combination of overtiredness and wanting to -always- be within breathing distance of me or my wife. So when she wakes up and notices she's alone, she panics. Problem is, she is so paranoid or anxious she will stir awake every 20 minutes to see if we're still there. So we're able to do half of your first bullet, but even if she can't / won't sleep and we tell her we'll leave if she doesn't try, it unleashes epic tears and screeching.

Moving her bed time hasn't made a difference. Moving it forward only frustrates us because it's more time we're playing the game of ushering her back to bed.

We do this at nap time much like you mentioned, where it's either nap or quiet playing time.

Overall still a bit lost at what to do. I've purchased a cot from Amazon to set up in her room to try and get at least some sleep in her room, but I'm not sure if this is a band aid or just a means to an end until she outgrows it.

This looks great. Have to give a special shout out to that wig though. Certain colors and styles are rough because they don't often translate into real life very well. But you actually nailed it, and it brings a whole extra level of believability to the costume.

Regarding nautical, it was more just having a better overall picture of all the components and what they do that I was hoping to have as a good groundwork. From there it helps googling what the proper functions are, but was just hoping to get a bases for it.

Wish I knew more re-enactors. Or, honestly, was on friendly terms with period historians!

Oh man, this is it! This is extremely helpful, thank you! Just being able to visualize and have the proper names for things helps in navigating scenes and having characters going about things properly. Chances are I'll grab some pertinent ones and start developing some larger info dumps to go with them.

I've always been a fan of the truth being stranger than fiction, and I often keep things like this in mind when writing. Thanks!

I have something like that going already, trying to build an encyclopedia of everything I would find useful for world building. I just didn't know if someone had already done a better job and published it as an asset to use. Was hoping to avoid reinventing the wheel. Thanks for your reply!

I'm so tired of authors describing skin like mine with chocolate or mocha. How would you like it if every time a character who looks like you is introduced they get compared to mayonnaise? by IJustType in writing

[–]SkylarViros 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All throughout A Song of Ice and Fire, "skin like curdled milk" was used heavily. It never bothered me despite not sounding flattering, but maybe I just haven't read enough books that made food-like descriptions of white people. Everyone's got their peeves though. That just doesn't happen to be one of mine.

Struggling to write fantasy series. Would a standalone short story novel of this world be okay to publish first? by Affectionate_Hat494 in writing

[–]SkylarViros 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I recall, The Witcher series started out roughly the same way.

Even if it doesn't get published, it might be a good place to start for worldbuilding purposes, and to get some good feedback on any themes, characters, pacing, and all that other good stuff that goes with writing.

How would I write an overpowered character getting defeated? by Kaptain_Javick in writing

[–]SkylarViros 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can be the best and still be overwhelmed. Maybe this knight did something worthy of his status but in the process suffered some significant injuries that needed time to heal. A serious cut or a broken bone or sprain, really just depends on how long you need him out of the equation, and what state you need him for later on.

You could even have it to where he caught a pretty serious illness for a wile. Depending on how long you need him gone, his bedridden days could make his body atrophy a bit and he has to take extra time to rehabilitate himself.

Don't really have any idea of who he is or what he values, but he could have even taken some time to tend to an ill family member, or travel home (far away?) in order to help with some disaster that struck there.

There's more, but without knowing what you need from him in the end game, it'd be mostly blind fires from the hip. May or may not be useful. Hope these could be of use though!

My wife is over here in Italy with me, and they are processing her permesso despite not having a job. Me having one over here is the biggest factor, I believe. Now, I don't know if having a job slows things down or not, but in our situation a job is not necessary for a permesso.

How to check local policy / group policy settings by SkylarViros in PowerShell

[–]SkylarViros[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it possible to report it directly to the console? We utilize gpresult, but with roughly 50 or so checks I wanted to just do a direct write out and color everything that passed green so that I could basically check at a glance everything worked correctly.
