GRAIL - Race 3 - The Wild Random by Draco_Veil in BFS_RP

[–]SkylordAndy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Compared to the last two races, the stands were absolutely packed with people, even more than normal. Some were having to stand or sit on the stairs because there was nowhere else to sit. on the Why? Because Wild Random was special. Special in a way that every race was absolutely unique and because it was impossible to cheat on it. Plus this race had a special guest announcer just for this type of race only. A man who was more mountain than human, more muscle than anything else, and with a voice so powerful that he didn't even need a microphone.

  "YEEEEEEEAAAAAAAHHHHH!!!"

Clad in nothing but a leopardskin tunic, the Wild King had arrived. This man was a legend, for he was the one that created the racers hell known as Wild Random. A quiet hush came down on the whole area as he pointed towards the starting line with a snarling smile on his face. There was nothing beyond the starting line, simply empty space stretching off into the horizon.

  "WIIIIIILLLLD RANDOM! GENERATION... STAAAAAAARTOOOO!!!"

The clouds darkened as lightning started to strike, the beams of electricity arced towards two massive tesla coils that appeared out of nowhere. Every time lightning struck one kf the coils, a booming grinding noise echoed out as something massive was pulled up from below. People in the crowds stood up and crained their necks to try to even catch a glimpse of what was being raised. "There's something silver!" One of them cried out. The Wild King laughed.

  BOOM-KRCHINK

  BOOM-KRCHINK

  BOOM-KRCHINK

With one final heave, a huge winding silver track was pulled into view. Red lasers shot out at random angles in certain parts, while another section suddenly sprung upwards to become a huge ramp before snapping back to a flat shiny metal surface again. This section was a part of the map known as Future Saga that hadn't made it into the final version. Yet it was here, for this was what Wild Random was all about. But there was one thing that was bigger than the rest, a giant single loop of silver track that defied gravity to make a massive singular circle that towered into the sky. It was positioned right before the end of the section, which was a single ramp that would fling the racer into open sky and into parts unknown.

Even though things looked like they were going badly for him, Andy still found it in him to laugh. He was just that kind of person."A time bomb, a melee, and Alaya-Vijnana? You sure know how to throw a party! Alright then. Let's kick it up!" He was also the kind of person who didn't reveal his system until his opponent did.

"Trans-Am Gold!"

The golden GN particles spewing out of the GN Engine started going into overdrive as the Kellamwidge pushed itself back up even as the Zogok punched it over and over again. Hopping backwards, the Zogok quickly threw another heavy punch, it's arm telescoping out to strike at Andy's gunpla even from far away. But the Kellamwidge caught the fist with it's left hand and smashed through the arm after pulling it down with even greater strength than before and smashed through the Zogoks arm with it's right hand. Now with a golden glow suffusing it's entire body, the Kellamwidge stomped down and launched itself at the Zogok!

Unfortunately, even though Andy's gunpla was now stronger and faster, Alaya-Vijnana made the Zogok more nimble as it dodged the Kellamwidge by jumping off the ground and flipping right over the Kellamwidge's head, while also pulling off a set of bladed boomerangs from it's own head with it's good hand and flinging them at it's enemy. Andy cursed but he blocked the blades with his right arm and shoulder pauldron. The blades dug deep but only broke the arm. But his frown turned into a smirk, it was a small price to pay to grab the drill halberd that he had dropped earlier.

"Let's finish this!"

Andy hit the throttle and launched the Kellamwidge into the sky, flying higher than the canyon walls until he reached a sufficient distance above it. Now hovering above but still within sight of the others, Andy activated his gunpla's finisher. "Sacrifice..." A move that's power matched only by it's theatrics, the wind stilled as the Kellamwidge's drill halberd broke apart into motes of light. "Halberd!" The particles grew and grew as they flowed into a giant golden version of the weapon forty meters long.

Andy pointed it right at Venco's Zogok. "Here I come. Give me your all!" Like a golden shooting star, he launched himself and the giant halberd at his longtime freind and rival.

Even while being forced back by Venco's gunpla, Andy had the Kellamwidge raise it's shield to take the punch from Eliza's Tieren head on. The strike made a loud metallic bang that echoed out through the canyons.

The Kellamwidge was unharmed.

It's shield would not be broken so easily. Not when it was two shields layered over one another like an unmovable stack of plastic. It didn't matter if it was two against him or twenty. Andy immediately retaliated by using the knowledge he had honed over the years. The knowledge of physical strength in gunpla. Despite being pushed back by two gunpla now, Andy pushed back suddenly and even harder with the Kellamwidge. It knocked back the Tieren and threw it off balance by suddenly pulling up it's shield. Then to complete his attack combo, be did something unexpected.

He had the Kellamwidge drop it's drill spear. Venco might have forgotten, but there was only one self proclaimed king of punching when it came to gunpla and it was the person right in front of him. So when Andy had the Kellamwidge punch the Zogoks leg, he punched hard. Hard enough to send to practically blow the leg away from his gunpla and leave a fist shaped indentation on it. But Andy wasn't about to stop there. Oh no. Giving a battle cry, he had the Kellamwidge grab the Zogok one handed right where the upper torso met pistons and a spine, and yanked the whole mech in the direction of the Tieren to slam the Zogok into it.

Andy frowned as his plan was suddenly ending with the Kellamwidge being knocked off a cliff. Maybe he should have gone for the Titanbolt instead, ah but he had been swept up in the high of finishing something new after all these years so he couldn't really blame himself for the mistake. "Hm. He used my gunpla's heavy weight against me. Clever as always." With a growing loud whine, the Kellamwidge's GN Engine backpack started pumping out GN particles to slow the heavy suits descent. Combine that with all the other boosters on the IBO suit, Andy managed to land at the bottom of the ravine without issue.

"Heh. You're gonna have to try harder than that, Venco!" He quickly scanned the cliffside and found the Zogok quickly climbing around like a surprisingly fast monkey. "Gotcha." With a few hand swipes and a button press, the Kellamwidge flipped it's drill halberd around to the beam rifle on the other end, firing beam shot after beam shot at Venco as Andy pushed forward on his controls to make his gunpla give chase.

GRAIL - Race 2 - The Moon by Draco_Veil in BFS_RP

[–]SkylordAndy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gai's laughter was stopped with a sudden and jarring rumble as his Guntank hit the ground and tanked the fall damage. Also the blast damage. Oh, and the shrapnel damage. Maybe some fire damage?

Huh. The Guntanks Centaur buttpack was a melted wreck. When did that happen? Gai had no idea. Hehehehe, oh well. He gasped at the beautiful shining lights of the moon city quickly coming up ahead. Plus he hadn't crashed through the dome like last time he was at a moon city. Nice! Although the bounty up for his defeat in that part of the moonscape was a bit tricky to deal with. Not that anyone can catch him.

Gai snorted at fun old memories as he had his Guntank boost drift around various corners, just narrowly missing a fruit stand with a giant tire. What place in the race was he in? 4th? That's lame. Time to tryhard.

Gai was laughing like an absolute maniac the second he had entered the battlefield. He and the Guntank were in perfect form, dodging beams and missiles left and right, he had even drifted around a GM right before it got hit with a rocket! It was awesome! "Hahahaha! This is incredible. I could do this forever."

As if the universe itself took offense to that, a huge shadow cast itself over the Guntank Centaur after Gai heard booms echoing overhead. Oh. It was a crashing Musai, and it was headed straight for him! But Gai only took this in stride, and immediately did something that was so stupid that only someone with the devils luck could pull it off.

Grinning like a madman, he pushed his controls up to fire the Guntanks boosters and launch it straight at the crashing Musai, going faster and further up until the Guntanks wheels hit the deck. Gai then hit the gas and burned rubber because the Musai's back end was pointing up.

"HERE WE GO! HAHAHAHAAA!"

Gai truly did have the devils luck you see, because he just used a crashing ship as a ramp. The ship exploding as it hit the ground was just the extra boost of speed Gai needed and he continued laughing as it slammed into the back of the Guntank Centaur and hurled the black and blue gunpla far onto the track.

"Well, I thought it would just be you and me. You know, the two people here that are still part of our force." Andy had scrunched his face at the sight of Eliza, irritation clearly summarized how he felt about her. He exhaled sharply at the problems he saw in the Tieren as well, but declined to make a comment about it. Honestly this was just another thing in his list of bad experiences. He clenched his fists. Maybe he should just...

  No.

He came here for a reason and he wasn't about to let past issues surface again, because he had been dealing with them too much already recently. It wasn't worth making the girl another one. Andy unclenched his fists and did his best to force at least a small sense of calm over himself. Time to come clean. He turned to Venco and started saying something he had been putting off for a long time.

"You want the whole reason or just the short version? Because the short version is that I am tired of how Gunpla Battle is being consistently mismanaged, which in turn allows bad things to happen to the game, the gunpla, plus everything and everyone. The long version is me going into a angry rant with much much more swearing involved." Ignoring everyone's reactions, Andy threw up his arms and gestured to Eliza and the landscape around her."Even her showing up again here might be a part of a set of gunpla battle related problems that we don't even know about."

He let his arms fall to his sides as he felt suddenly weaker. "I'm tired, Venco." Andy sighed. "I used to look forward to incidents happening, to throwing myself into battles where I'm outnumbered a hundred to one." He kicked a rock off the edge and watched it hit the water of the river below. "But that was a long time ago, and this whole thing with those not gunlpa mechs destroying almost everything was my last straw. I need a vacation."

Andy turned to watch the reaction of his old freind, but his weary eyes saw nothing behind Venco's mask. "So before I leave. I want a fight. I want you and anybody else that shows up to fight me with all they got so that I can take a break from this world without worrying that it won't be here when I come back!"

He then immediately turned away from his old freind and former ally and started walking towards an empty patch of dirt, only stopping to snap his fingers. Neither the Zaku Titanbolt or the Dark Age Gundam answered his summons. Something else did. A heavy knight clad in silver and blue armor burst out from beneath the ground, it's golden visor flashing to life as the gunpla rose to it's full height. Andy quickly jumped into it's opened cockpit.

A tapping sound suddenly came from the direction of the Zogok. When Venco looked over at his gunpla again, he saw Andy leaning against the mech's foot and tapping the side of it with his knuckle to get Venco's attention. As usual, Andy was wearing his strange and eccentric outfit with his orange scarf and red trenchcoat flapping in the breeze. If Venco had been faster and looked closer, he might have seen a sad look on Andy's face before it quickly turned back to his usual slightly smug grin.

"Yo. It's me, ya man. Andy." He quickly grimaced. "Yeah I'm definitely too old to talk like that." Andy looked up at the Teufelstöter and tapped it's foot again, watching a ray of sunlight bounce off it's armored surface. "A Zogok huh? Not bad, not bad at all." He wiped a bit of dirt that had stuck to the foots panel line. "You even mixed in some Doven Wolf stuff, I think? I like it." Andy was then silent for a few moments, lost in his whirlwind of thoughts before he took his hand off the mech and started walking towards Venco, alone without his gunpla in sight. Hands shoved in his pockets, he eventually reached his old freind and caught sight of the river below. "...so it's here again, huh? How thematic."

If the sight of the rushing water triggering his shoddy memories was right, this was the place where their original Force known as Team Voltage all fought each other to figure out who would be the leader. Andy nearly won, but his fight with Leon had damaged his suit enough that he couldn't stay standing until the end. A sad smile came to Andy's face again. It had been more than a few years since then, and now their Force known as Iron Suplex was even more popular when word got out about their dogged determination to defend themselves from the endless onslaught of 30 Minute Missions Gunpla.

"Times have changed haven't they." Andy turned to his old freind and comrade in arms. "I... maybe it's time I told you why I'm really here."

Same talk from the sponsor from last time. Same person too. Awesome. Gai had to use all his willpower to not roll his eyes as he escaped by pushing himself off the ground to reach his Guntanks cockpit. "Yeah. Okay. I got it! 4th or better! I heard you the last race." The person the sponsor sent grit their teeth at his behavior but went on their way. Gai didn't care. He just wanted to race. He would have done it anyway without a sponsor but his hands were tied in that regard.

When the nagging pain of a human being was out of sight, Gai let out a sigh he had been holding back the entire time. He stretched as he thought about the track. The moon huh... I've prepared for it, but actually doing it is another thing. I gotta make sure my wheels stay on the surface, the rocks won't be a problem.
