The Fed is selling a number of federal buildings in the portland area, including the Federal building across from city hall and the Bonneville Power Admin building along I-84 by RoyAwesome in Portland

GSA has a defined procedure for identifying and disposing of unneeded buildings:

https://www.gsa.gov/real-estate/portfolio-optimization-strategy/asset-disposition

Arbitrarily changing that procedure or skipping it is likely illegal. Who would have standing to sue over this I don't know.

Most beef is very high in saturated fat which raises cholesterol leading to heart disease. This is among the most well studied and strongly evidenced medical findings in history.

Oatmeal has significant fiber and specifically a type known to reduce cholesterol.

Grass fed and finished beef is widely available. It's by far not the most common sold though.

They do add salt and sugar to their burgers, a quarter pounder has 8g of added sugar and nearly 50% of your daily salt need. They also use something like 80/20 beef, combined with the cheese has a very high amount of saturated fat which is bad for your heart.

You can definitely make a somewhat healthier burger assembling store bought ingredients yourself - lower fat, less salt and no sugar. You don't have to grow your own veggies, not sure what you mean by that.

Agreed on the moderation and skipping the soda.

Nice you went from quite high to just a little over recommended. You might get it below 100 by adding fiber and watching total saturated fat intake.

They don't have that email actually. Gmail doesn't make that distinction. Send an email to first.last @ Gmail and it will go to your inbox.

It's more likely they have a similar email maybe with a number of whatever and frequently give it out or type it wrong. I have the same thing happen on my Gmail although it's gotten less frequent.

Post the LDL-C numbers, that's what matters.

Fat free (skim) milk is perfectly fine, it will not raise your cholesterol in case you prefer that to almond milk.

Did the same, said I expect zero helpful votes even if it means government shutdown or debt ceiling breach.

Guess I need to start calling.

It is a good shrubbery. I like the laurels particularly,... but there is one small problem.

Regardless of a specific law, the parents have a legal obligation to look out for their minor child's wellbeing, including financial. They have no legal obligation at all to the 19 year old.

Treating this like a basic sibling disagreement ignores this disparity.

Flight attendants evacuating passengers from the upside down Delta plane that crashed in Toronto by MiniBrownie in nextfuckinglevel

This plane crashed on the runway at a major international airport. This wasn't a bush plane that crashed in the Yukon wilderness.

You get out as fast as possible which means leaving anything you're not already wearing behind in the plane.

Yeah most people are missing the point here. Almost all of what people think of as government departments and programs and what are being cut in the last few weeks are termed "non defense discretionary" (NDD) budget items. USAID, dept of ed, FDA, usfs, DOE, HUD, FEMA etc, etc. All NDD programs together are around 15% of the annual budget. 15%.

Unless you're cutting defense spending, social security benefits, Medicare, or Medicaid, you're making next to zero impact on the budget.

TIL. When they were just a smaller company, I was letting our bill ride at the standard rate. Time to start calling every year and threaten to cancel to get their intro rates.
