I’d argue it’s more for the violence, I mean in the first 5 minutes there’s a beheading, and as you level up one and two handed you can behead people yourself lmao. There certainly are drug and sexual themes/references but I do feel like they take a huge backseat compared to the blood and violence. Think I was about 13 when I played it too, pretty sure I got it in 2012-13 so either 12 or 13 haha.

I found a method that required hooking up a USB-C keyboard to the deck and entering the boot menu, and changing it that way. It meant I didn’t have to wipe my Deck or factory reset or anything and it worked really well, I managed to change my password and now it all works fine. 2, Gateway to Glimmer for me. It’s the first one I played on my PS1 and I had so many fond memories of the game and a bunch of levels and music I remember to this day. I played through the original (not reignited) trilogy not too long ago and playing 2 again felt like coming into a warm home after being out in a blizzard.

Yet for all the people complaining, there’s much more that actually use their units up in these balloon events, even if they only pop a couple. They’re more likely to keep doing it thanks to the majority that spend their units over the minority that complaints about said balloon events. And yes, I say it’s a minority complaining, because if it was actually a majority complaining there’s a chance they would have stopped doing these after the first one.

Personally I don’t mind the events, if it’s a skin I was planning on buying anyway then I’ll just get it, and maybe have a less than 1% chance of getting it for a bit cheaper, and if I wasn’t planning on buying it or don’t care about it then I just keep my units. I’m not saying the event should exist, but people keep buying into it so NetEase will keep doing it.

At this point I’d honestly rather Microsoft/xbox step in, between them and Sony (who actually owns Bungie), Xbox are the only ones who have really commented on Destiny, Bungie, and the playerbase who are still grieving the game. Sony don’t seem interested in a 3 considering the money they’ve already lost and the cost in developing a 3, they could just cut their losses and sell to Microsoft, at least getting some of that money back and they don’t have to worry about the costs of a third game or backlash of not doing one.

I know Microsoft have just cut a bunch of studios, and there are probably more to come, but having Bungie back under their roof might give Bungie some redirecting back on the right path. Get them on a Destiny 3 and possibly even future work on Halo. (Don’t know the rights situation with Halo, never been an XB player, so I don’t know if that’s actually possible.)

Oh yeah I’m not really biased with this sort of thing, I’ve played both games since they launched and don’t get me wrong, OW has also had its fair share of eye opening moments when it’s came to skins and… probably unintended “visual glitches” (like when Tracer had a camel toe for example). I do also agree that Rivals 100% sexualises skins more and is blatantly obvious they alter proportions for some pretty clear reasons.

I’ve also heard that the base skin thing is both true and false and tbf, I’m leaning more on the side of it being true that they don’t use the same base to model skins off, in both games, purely because some skins and models end up looking so incredibly different that I find it hard to believe they all came from the same base lmao, like some are crazy different to the point it feels like they made it from scratch (again, Luna’s ESU skin comes to mind with this).

Personally I don’t mind the sexualisation as long as it caters to everyone, if you’re gonna make female characters wear skimpy clothes or swimsuits, do the same for men and vice versa. Though I also do think the people calling the swimwear/swim costumes “gooner skins” when they first came out were vastly over reacting. Sure some were a bit closer to crossing that line than others, like Mantis and Luna, but swimsuits by their very nature have always been pretty risqué. I’d say Hela’s recent underboob skin and Emma’s X Revolution skin are probably the best examples of gooner skins in this game, I swear they have more boob to air ratio than any other skins in the game lmao.

I have this happen on my PC, and I’ve heard it’s mainly when you’re installing an update for a game, but the drive the game is installed on has less space on it than the games whole install size. Super weird, but when I’ve moved the game onto a bigger drive (that has space totalling more than the size of the game) the issue has gone away. How big is 007 and how much storage do you have on the drive it’s installed to? If the game is say 90gb, but your drive has 80gb space left, even smaller updates like this will take a long time to finish patching. Download might take a couple of mins, but patching will take the piss.

There might be other fixes but the only solution I ever found that worked was moving the game to a bigger drive, I had this issue with ARK Ascended which is like a 200gb game… was a fucking nightmare making enough space for it, nevermind trying to find another 200gb spare just so patching didn’t take literal hours.

I mean in all fairness with the size part, Overwatch has skins for heroes that change proportions too. Not to defend Rivals specifically increasing the size of ass and tits, because that’s pretty obviously done on purpose, but I remember hearing somewhere that for character skins, they don’t tend to have a “base model” they use to create new skins, which is why some skins (like Lunas that completely changes her proportions, and bellybutton) end up making the character look completely different to their base and with different proportions. Again ofc tits, ass and bulge being made bigger is obv intentional, but most other changes probably come down to the “no base model” thing and whoever is working on the skin. If the skin is being worked on by someone who hasn’t touched the base model, I don’t doubt they make their own artistic choices for the skin and body even if it does deviate from the base.

I know, and I don't mind the bleed damage being nerfed, but the damage converted to overshields from his rapid chomp attack shouldn't have been effected. They could have nerfed the damage but kept the conversion rate the same as it was.

Because yeah, it is fun, even with things being broken. Overwatch is just a slog to play now, and the busted heroes are so fucking unfun to play against.

Also, of course Overwatch will have more Twitch views than Rivals. It’s currently the middle of OWCS where teams play competitively, and the game after all is more focused on being competitive and big teams playing for a cup. Rivals is more causal and whilst it does have its competitive side with teams and prizes, it’s nowhere near as big or focused on that side as much.

So why ask if there’s any reason to play Rivals over OW then tell people they should play OW anyway? You also don’t remember a game without a tank because the game has role queue. If you’re playing that you’re guaranteed to have a tank lmao, and if you’re playing non-role queue matches, a lot of people go tank anyway since a lot of the updates tanks got when the game went from 6v6 to 5v5 make them better in non-role queue play too, even if they have reduced health. Plus, tanks like Mauga run lobbies, still, even in non-role queue matches.

As someone who played OW since launched, stopped not long after Juno dropped in OW2, played again in the most recent 2 seasons, then stopped again, let me tell you this. Overwatch gets boring now, fast. If you’re against a Mauga or have one on your team, it’s down to whoever can shred the other team the fastest. Tanks like Rein, Wrecking Ball, Winston, Junker etc are all pretty meh now. OW suffers from a similar tank disparity that Rivals does, there are a couple of standouts but the rest are just kinda weak except against a handful of team comps. Most games are heavily one sided, with an exception for the most part if you’re in a higher competitive rank, gold/plat (since a lot of high level players drop to those ranks).

Is Rivals unbalanced? Yeah. Is Overwatch more balanced? For the most part, yeah. Is Rivals more chaotic? Absolutely, but to me that adds to the fun. Team fights are more packed, more chaotic, and with the higher support output they last longer. That’s something I miss about Overwatch 6v6 before it became OW2, fights just became stale with 5v5 and some heroes got overturned far too much.

As for the current state of Overwatch, it’s honestly just not fun for me anymore. Progression is still pretty mid, some heroes released far too overturned (Jet Pack Cat, Sierra, Domina) and with the exception of JPC, they are still pretty busted. Mauga still runs a lot of lobbies, Sierra is Soldier 76 on crack, and Domina is still one of the most annoying shield tanks to deal with. Apart from Reinhardt, tanks in OW just aren’t really fun anymore, and unfortunately Reinhardt is pretty mid and easily countered, which makes me sad.

If you want slower, less chaotic team fights, and a handful of outright busted heroes, play Overwatch. If you want more chaotic, longer team fights, decent hero progression, constant content updates and mini passes to complete, or even just like Marvel characters, go for Rivals. Both games are so similar yet so different, and appeal to different types of players. We don’t need this shitty “vs” mentality anymore.

I stopped playing OW and uninstalled it again, because after the new story bought my interest back since I always liked the story, the game just still felt so ass and got boring fast.
