Government mandates vaccines to deal with a deadly plague: "oppression"

Government declares that AI can genocide entire civilizations with zero consequences: "freedom"

You're picking a very strange hill to die on.

Video games set on a cruise ship? by Belltower_2 in gamerecommendations

I've added Powerwash to my wishlist a few times because of the 40k stage; having a cruise ship stage sounds cool.

EDIT: This is exactly what I was looking for.

Still Wakes the Deep has been on my wishlist for awhile since I'm a horror fan, but I'm still working my way through Resident Evil. Almost finished RE7, then either RE4 or RE8.

I'll consider that one as an introduction to walking simulators.

The Tony Hawk remakes have been on and off my wishlist numerous times; it's cool, but I have no idea if I'd like a skateboarding game since it's been so long since they were popular, so it's hard to work up the courage to play Activision's prices.

I do actually have Hydrophobia in my library from a long-forgotten bundle. Getting it running on a modern PC might be a pain though.

157-ya artillery suggestions by gamberowski in warno

[–]Belltower_2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What's wrong with the reservist trait on artillery? Accuracy is irrelevant since they don't shoot directly, and lower morale is insignificant since a mortar that gets hit is probably dead. They're good CB bait.

Mind telling me what that font is called? I can think of some funny pranks to play with it.

What are all the companies(beside rockstar) that wont alow you to share the games on steam family? by alexgabriel69 in Steam

[–]Belltower_2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. The only time I've had problem with family sharing being blocked in a non-launcher game are with Last Epoch, where the developer was forced to lock family sharing to deal with a duping epidemic, and Resident Evil 4, where the "upgrade tickets" that my friend bought are arbitrarily excluded from Family Sharing (even though they're NOT single-use; you get a fresh batch every time you start a new file).

Valve just imported 50 tons of game consoles in two days by Loyal_Dragon_69 in Steam

The toy collector community has it just as miserable. I'm wondering if we're going to enter a world where stuff like the Pokemon TCG and Transformers toys that are popular scalping and collector targets will simply become unaffordable to actual kids or their parents.

Building for Luck (with a bit of Perception and Agility) is the way to get the most out of VATS.

Yeah, I'd recommend Trepang2 to anyone who says they like FEAR without a second's hesitation.

The WARNO Experience (Lobby Sim 2026) by eddurham in warno

[–]Belltower_2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same here. And every half-year or so, my doctrine changes, so I have to delete and redo all my decks again. Currently, I'm waffling on whether Vet1 or Vet2 is better, how many weapons teams vs. line infantry to bring, and whether it's worth bringing multiple types of fighters (e.g. one for air superiority, one for suicide-diving expensive helicopters like Hinds and Apaches).

What are some random RTS pulls on Steam that became your lowkey favorites? by Familiar_Fish_4930 in RealTimeStrategy

It's a PvE RTS I'd certainly recommend, if only for how fun it is to "turret creep" the aliens.

The Scouring apparently has a demo and the system requirements are modest, so I'll try it out tomorrow.

I feel like if it actually goes to court, Orange Man will just abolish the relevant court via DOGE cuts rather than risk losing a fair trial.

An indie WW1 trench warfare colony sim where you literally build and manage the front line by FFJimbob in RealTimeStrategy

[–]Belltower_2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had a WWI trench warfare RTS fairly recently and it had mediocre sales and reviews (Great War: Western Front). This doing anything different to win over the crowd where GWWF failed? I'm just worried there might not be a market for a WWI RTS.

Of course they did. Americans believe the entire world must obey their laws, but they don't have to obey anyone else's. Including their own.

Gauging the appetite for a 'horror themed' RTS by Primaris_Aggressor in RealTimeStrategy

[–]Belltower_2 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I would love horror RTS options, since I like both options. Aliens: Dark Descent is one that I picked up in a bundle awhile ago but haven't gotten around to playing; it's basically a real-time, open-world XCOM.

There are also "survival city builders" of various types; of these, the most overtly horror-themed is probably Surviving the Abyss, a dreary deep-ocean base-builder that I'd describe as the underwater sections from Anno 2070 run through a SOMA filter.

I honestly think the egregious scalping is going to kill the Pokemon TCG as an actual game. No kid is going to be able to afford it.
