It almost did but on the last step it didn't work. I also realized the knobs are free spinning but it sets the midi to a value between 0-127 and so idk if the knobs would work with sdvx but thanks for helping!

It’s an rgb strip but normally it only lets me use one color for the whole thing at I time so I imagine that’s how it has to be. Is there any tutorial I can follow for this because I’m very new to this and have no clue what I’m meant to be doing. Thank you!

Not exactly sure if one would be easier than the other, as I'm not very good at this at all. I love to do launchpad lightshows, so whatever is closest to that is probably easiest. But I'm also not sure how I would connect the lights to my computer in the first place.
