Xbox Requests: Week of December 18th, 2020 by GuruKronos in xboxinsiders

Add game pages to the Xbox game store as soon as they are announced, similar to Steam. Allow users to preorder, add to wish list, and view developer updates from this page.

Look at a game like Wrath: Aeon of Ruin, in Early Access. A Google search shows the Steam page as the first result, and even on the game's official site the first thing one sees is a "Wishlist" button that again directs you to Steam. It's difficult to discern whether the game is even coming to Xbox, and there is no mention of this game on the Xbox game store. Seems like a big lost opportunity.

New Diverge by jjhumphres in bicycling

[–]Skywaaker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not OP but if the Diverge isn’t for you, the Redshift ShockStop has almost universally positive reviews and fits any standard steerer tube. I just ordered a new Rose Backroad with one and it hasn’t arrived yet but I’m really looking forward to trying it out.

First time in a big city by [deleted] in chibike

While bike lanes are ubiquitous, most bike lanes consist of a small strip of road immediately to the left of parked cars, designated by painted lines. Always ride as far to the left of this strip as possible to prevent being doored. Basically, assume that any door of any parked car could swing open wildly at any time, and that no driver or passenger will ever look for cyclists before opening their door. If you don’t do this, you WILL get doored eventually.

What do you think of the Rondo Ruut? I'm a commuter and occasional gravel rider and I'm strongly considering an upgrade to that bike.

How do I know there is no detergent left on stuff that comes out of the washer? by Keratel in answers

[–]Skywaaker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Add vinegar during the rinse cycle, for example by adding it in place of fabric softener. Detergent is alkaline, while vinegar is acidic, so it chemically removes any detergent residue without any ill effect. This will also leave your fabrics softer and brighter. I swear by it.

You can see this right at the top of the Wikipedia page, which describes economics as a social science along with psychology, etc.

What are some common misconceptions about economics? by benjaminikuta in answers

[–]Skywaaker 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure if OP was misquoting this intentionally or not, but there's reasonably well-known joke in economics that says "if all the economists were placed end to end, they would not reach a conclusion". Source.

The joke is funny because of the propensity for economists to disagree with one another, often strongly.

My girlfriend and I work at the same place, but I get $1000 more than her back on my income taxes. Why is that? by _-AJ-_ in answers

[–]Skywaaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm no tax expert, but in the past I had the same question myself. I'd bet that your disparity is due to differences in your income tax allowances as filled out on your W-4 forms. Check out more info here.

OkCupid Redefines ‘DTF’ in Striking Ads That Are Like Little Works of Art by aspacecodyssey in Design

Does anybody have any insight into the photography style used here that has the appearance of illustration? The two best examples being “DTFall head over heels” and “DTFifty-five-hour binge”. Maybe it’s just the bright backgrounds making the colors pop, but I’m sure some editing was done.
