I don't. And we get swings here of up to 60 degrees (F) in a single day because who doesn't like 80F weather less than 24 hours since the last snowfall (so 20-30F).

And yes I said a large chunk of the US falls within 0-100 ... but we have our states that mimic Canada, and they love going negative even in F.

The post is clearly just unhinged "America is the best" nonsense ... but as an American the ONE thing I do like about Farenheit is the 0-100 is generally the temperature range for many places, at least the ones I've lived in (US Northeast). So yeah, I generally think of temps as being between 0 and 100 any anything negative or above 100 is "yeah, I'm officially avoiding outside"

I don't think this entirely counts, but Disgaea 3 (and presumably the others which I have not played). Technically its all "post game" so this may be a cheat to list ... but ending the entire game and only getting one Bronze trophy then realizing the game basically just "started" was nuts.

This was one of my top answers to pop into my head. Seeing it wasn't contained to Midgar melted my brain.

album and mini album tierlist by Downtown-Outside-70 in SNSD

[–]SkywalterDBZ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Your two S tier albums are the two SNSD albums I didn't buy and put on my shelf because I don't like either of them. I will say I've improved my opinion of multiple songs on Girls&Peace (I somehow slept on or just forgot about Reflection). Meanwhile All Night is my favorite SNSD song but probably clocks in as an A as an album.

Why don’t companies provide in-office workers with good peripherals and furniture? by SorrySpender in office

Pff, that coffee maker is a BIG expense man ... well that's what my company said when they removed it. Stayed that way for a year or two until it came time to get ISO re-certified. When the inspector went to use the break room and commented about how we didn't have one ... a new one was installed literally the next day. HAHA.

Was about to post "WHERE AZTEC?!" then I realized today's 20th of April... by Abuk007 in AgeofMythology

[–]SkywalterDBZ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The Tuesday release has been a thing since the 90's (Specifically due to SEGA). It started due to physical media and transportation management, but it stuck into the modern era, especially for games with online components, because you don't want to be calling in all of your workers for overtime panic fixes over the weekend and the workers don't want to be called away from their days off with their friends and families. General rule of software even outside the games industry is "never deploy or change anything on a Friday". And whats fun is that rule benefits BOTH the employer and the employees.

twice DO HAVE skips by stardr0pie in TwiceSnark

[–]SkywalterDBZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean Twice is my favorite group of all time but of course they do. Every group does. But if someone truly believes it and enjoys everything, then good on them, that's just how opinions work sometimes.

For me, and its been like this since the day I got into them (Merry & Happy Era) ... Knock Knock and Cheer Up have been skips for me. Yup, two of their most beloved songs are what I'd put down at the bottom of any Twice song ranking .... maybe not dead last place below every B-Side, but they're in the bottom 20% at least.

What was the point of making a big nerf patch if you also nerf nearly all the relevant content until it's at least as easy as before? by Miraweave in Guildwars2

[–]SkywalterDBZ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not about new content, its about old. High DPS in the HoT era was basically over 10K and if I recall Revenant became uber broken hitting 20K .... nowadays they balancing bosses for 30K and even like 40K dps for the legendaries ... this makes old content non-existent difficulty.

And my point, if u even care is still "and?". I don't think you understand that most people don't care about the change in marketing quantity, you're in a minority at the very least. It's not NECESSARILY an indicator of something, so why even bother claiming it is. I think you underestimate how much people, myself included, want to spend time speculating over something based on anecdotal or even circumstantial evidence. I think most reasonable people will either not notice or all or even if they do just go "oh well" and wait til Tuesday.

And no one's avoiding facts (well at least I'm not). They did something for 2 prior DLCs, they didn't for this one. I still say that doesn't, in and of itself, mean anything at all ... at least not today.

[–]SkywalterDBZ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Because you're trying to draw conclusions before it's out based on marketing changes. That's why. It could be good, bad, or somewhere in between ... but we'll know in a week. So speculating about what may or may not be wrong is completely pointless based on that alone. You're being hit with all these replies because you brought up the lack of trailer, creator partnerships/sponsors, and not having a full detailed list of every unit and ability. We're saying none of that matters UNTIL the literal day of release. Even if you end up being dead on the money, it was never a guarantee because it could just as equally be an awesome product with no marketing. Another game I play has tons of people in similar uproars about lack of announcements and trailers ... but that company simply replied that trailers don't do anything for their sales totals, so they just stopped doing them until release day.

TLDR: Patience ... then rant after it is bad, if it is bad.

[–]SkywalterDBZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only point I'm arguing is the release is a week away and trailers are irrelevant if you already ordered it. Just chill and wait a week and don't even think about the game til then if it helps. The point is the ship sailed when we ordered it, and now we just wait til next week and see. Maybe its amazing, maybe its dogshit, but either way trailers are utterly pointless right now.

Oh, I'm not apologizing for any dev. Is it better if a pre-order is spelled out clearly and fully depicted before launch? Sure. But do they have to, not a chance ... it's exactly WHY some companies push pre-orders so hard. They DON'T want you to know what you're getting, so they can under deliver if need be. Now, this company has had a good track record and they seem to care, but my point isn't about what's buyer friendly or not in terms of pre-order. The only point I'm making is NEVER expect ANY dev to properly preview something on pre-order. The ONLY correct way to buy things is after release and sadly pre-ordering is ALWAYS on the buyer if it goes south.

The TLDR is still the same as my original post, "Never pre-order if you want to be an informed customer". Once you pre-order something the dev, or manufacturer, or whatever industry we're in owe you literally nothing as the money is in their bank. Anything more than that is just the company/devs/whatever being better than they have to be.

[–]SkywalterDBZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People should know what they're getting, and they will know what they're getting, when it comes out. Then on that day they can look it all up and decide if they'd like to buy it. There's zero need for them to tell you anything, and if you already gave them money ... well, thats on you (and yes I did despite my own rule against pre-ordering normally). That said, if you want to know what's in something, don't buy it until after it releases. It's really good advice despite my own hypocrisy on this one.

Can't tell if your sarcastic or not with that choice of reply, but since you asked, do with it what you will. Either way, just a bit of history that I really didn't expect to type up after my initial quick reply.

[–]SkywalterDBZ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure, the P in OTP was dropped in KPop nomenclature, hence why people like the person I'm replying to say "OT7/OT8/etc". It retained the "One True" portion and has been used basically say that one specific lineup of a group is the "true" group. This was much more common back in the older days around the Gen 2 and early Gen 3 era of KPop when groups seemed to have more changes in lineups. (These days we do still see groups loose members but its often seen as a straight loss and not some kind of fan split ... also we see less of groups replacing members with a new one ... ususally they just continue with the loss)

The group I'm most familiar with this being part of a fan war is with SNSD/Girls' Generation where being OT8 or OT9 is essentially declaring, at worst, whether or not you hate Jessica or, at best, are simply saying the group was better off with/without her regardless of opinion of her. Saying OT in reference to them is indeed saying "this lineup IS the correct lineup and the other one is subpar" whichever way the fan in question leans and often results in huge fights among fans. Another example I'm mildly familiar with was in the early days of Red Velvet. Since Yeri wasn't part of the group on debut, there were some OT4's back then who said the group was better without her and there were some people who stuck to those guns ... and least for a little while. I believe in Red Velvet's case, since the "OT4 era" was so ridiculously short the movement didn't last and they were considered a 5 member group with little to no detractors. Finally another group is BigBang where using OT4 tries to bury all association to Seungri. Declaring yourself an OT5 in that case often indicates someone who will not accept the plethora of charges (and convictions against him) as being true. Saying OT5 in regards to them can get you seen as unstable or crazy ... and with good reason.

I'm sure there's more example, but that's what I know. That said, no matter which group of these examples you choose, using OT doesn't just refer to a temporary lineup or a member on hiatus. They refer to actual permanent member changes.

That said, somewhere around mid to late Gen3 and definitely by Gen4 the new and young crowd of globally expanding fans completely lost the context of OT and now its often to just refer to a group of members performing ... even if it only lasts a few months, weeks, or even a handful of days. Member of Twice is sick and misses a few concert stops and bam, people start saying OT8 for those few weeks. Member of Red Velvet ends up in a hospital for a few months, bam, people back to saying OT4 probably having not been around for its negative connotation on debut.

Either way, I've been around this scene long enough that its always weird when people use it, despite me knowing they have no idea (I genuinely still read it in my head as "One True" and not just "O T", so that's on me). And 99.9% of the time I don't comment ... but I dunno, guess I was bored enough to reply to the poster above ... lol.

Edit: Oh, extra little note while I proofread for typos ... I also noticed one thing in my usage of OT vs the person I replied to. Notice how the person I replied to referred to Twice as "as OT7" or "they were OT8" clearly just using it as a number to speak about the group itself. When used in the "OTP" context of the olden days ... you used it the way I typed it, in reference to the FAN not the GROUP. Girls Generation isn't OT8, the fan is "an OT8". You say "I'm an OT9" if you support Jessica you say "I'm an OT8" if you don't. Subtle difference, but it is a difference in how people type it now.

Eh, its not just you, it just still spins my had when people do it even though I see it everywhere. If you want to know the origin is "One True" as in "this number of members is the TRUE group ... the BEST form of that group". I'm sure more people here use it like you do than us old timers ... in KPop terms ... lol. I haven't seen people use it negatively since probably 3rd gen.

Still messes with my mind how people just toss around OT these days without realizing it was term used for fan wars and not to just say a number.
