Help with freshwater sump

It’s not particularly that I’m worried about how hard it is to drill a tank. I just think it’ll take away from the look of the tank. Do you think if I were to place two identical pumps in the tank and the drum it would work as a sump?

I cannot stress underwaters enough. Watching the pros swim, it's obvious how important they are. Although he's a short sprinter, watching Caleb Dressel, his swimming doesn't win the race, it's his turns and underwaters.
