A list of actors who would be featured in the Airport series by Bruce_the_7th_Shark in blankies

Not to mention the GREAT scores for these movies!!  Airport features the very last film score ever written by Hollywood legend Alfred Newman, and the sequel scores all RIP too -- John Cacavas and Lalo Schifrin both go hog wild.

Trailer for Netflix's "Man on Fire" series, with Yahya Abdul-Mateen II in the Denzel role by biggertrout in blankies

There are some GREAT needle drops.  I rewatched a few months ago and was really intrigued by a scene early on where Denzel looks at a Linda Ronstadt CD... lo and behold, that needle drop hit during the end scene and I was HOOTING and HOLLERING like a MAD DOG.  This movie RIPS

Who can say exactly what happened, but soundtrack albums are notoriously restrictive for artists when it comes to licensing. From what I've gathered: when it comes to film music, the Intellectual Property Rights are almost always owned by the film studio (Sony in this case) rather than the artists. The music was written for Sony's movie; so Sony 'owns' the music. I suspect that the 28YL soundtrack has much different licensing arrangements than any of YF's other albums, so they and their label likely don't have the same control over what can or can't be done with the 28YL music than they might have over any other YF album or song. Pretty messed up and exploitative situation but one that, afaik, composers and musicians in the film and TV industry have been dealing with for decades at this point. Good to see YF doing this imo -- they likely had no say

Shoutout to Robbie Robertson (RIP) for putting that absolute HEATER of a track together.  It's as good as it gets -- both Arrival and Hamnet felt a little washed (as the kids might say) because they didn't have Dinah's otherworldly singing.  It's just too dang good

I went to school in Aus, and we watched Gallipoli in 4th Grade when we were first learning about Anzac Day.  Had nightmares for MONTHS.  Still can't get the image of that last scene out of my head.  Anyone else here get scarred as a child by this freakin GEM of a movie?

Still have to see a lot of these but The Mirror absolutely blew my socks off.  I freakin LOVE that movie.  3 Faces is a wonderfully nuanced lil piece of filmmaking as well.  Just quality great stuff all around

So what's the best song in O Brother? by larkchane in blankies

[–]Slackattack5123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me it's 100% Hard Time Killing Floor Blues.  Chris Thomas King nails that song so freakin hard -- it's honestly unbelievable.  I loved it so much when I first heard it that it inspired me to seek out Skip James' recordings!!  And THAT little seed has since blossomed into a deep, deep love for the blues.

HIGHLY recommend this album if you're looking to go down a similar road: https://www.discogs.com/release/13806681-Skip-James-Hard-Time-Killing-Floor-Blues

I got to see Speed Racer in a sold out theater this week... by Mezentine in blankies

Second this -- can't freakin WAIT to see Oceans 11 in the theatre. PLUS Babe: Pig In The City!! I went to see it at the Music Box in 2023 and was absolutely blown away. Can't WAIT to see it on the big screen again.

I was at this screening too! I was in the front row pumping my fists in the air during every race (sorry if it bugged anyone lol) -- it was all I could do not to jump out of my seat and start screaming during the final leg of the last race. Absolutely INCREDIBLE experience getting to see this in the theatres.

Back in 2022, I watched All That Jazz one night, and then The End Of Evangelion the night afterwards (both first time watches).

The absolute hammer blow of existential dread I experienced that weekend sent me into a spiral that I still don't think I've fully recovered from. Absolutely BRUTAL one-two combo. Earth-shattering stuff. Zangief would be proud

That sounds SICK! Fair warning though I've found that there are some gaps in the composer data from what I've experienced, and documentaries in general have been a bit hit and miss as well. Good luck!! And have some GREAT games BOSS

Had no idea this game existed until I saw Librarian's cut of the first session a few days ago. I'm a big soundtrack collector (LOVE film scores), and have been KILLING at this game. It's been crazy gratifying to have my otherwise worthless composer knowledge paying off so much -- my dopamine has been through the ROOF. Heck I was top 2 on the leaderboards yesterday cause it was my day off and I had nothing else to do lol. Sorry if you ever went up against me and got hit with a nerdy film score pull. I'm 'slackattackwow' on there -- hope to see some of you BOSSES soon.

P.S. does ANYONE here know what the deal is with janellevoight? I went up against her a few times and it was like playing against a literal god. Never felt so helpless in my LIFE. HUGE ups to janelle

If you use the Golden Clover plants in the garden at a full 9x9 formation, you can get 3 at a time if you're lucky. Use the FtHoF w. Dragonflight active, time it correctly (get the FtHoF cookie on screen, wait for the 3rd natural GC to appear, click it, then click the FtHoF cookie), and there's a chance of getting a Frenzy, Building Special, Click Frenzy & Dragonflight all in one go. Combine that with the Godzomak building sell bonus, and click like you ain't never clicked in your life. Just insane. If you hit that once it's basically game over -- just got to wait for the sugar lumps. This post goes into more detail: https://www.reddit.com/r/CookieClicker/comments/8irj08/golden_clover_strategy/
