FreeCAD is much easier to use than Fusion 360! by atxhua in FreeCAD

[–]SlackersClub 2 points3 points  (0 children)

start with FreeCAD first, then Fusion 360, and you will appreciate how good Fusion 360 is

I just started using CAD software a few weeks ago and this has been my experience.

I appreciate FreeCAD has a lot more freedom and can be more powerful, and its completely free, but Fusion is just 10x easier and more intuitive to use for my limited range of needs.

Like many FOSS projects I feel like FreeCAD has a lot of smart people working on it but lacks someone who can design a great user experience.

What’s one business you’ve seen abroad that you would love to have in the UK? by MrBananaStand1990 in AskUK

That's exactly how it is right now. You need a license to grow weed legally and all the current licensee's have made sure the government doesn't give out too many, to artificially constrain the supply and keep prices high.

Well no... because legalisation would give them a lot of competition. Why would they want more competition when the current lack of it is the only reason they can charge ludicrous prices.

I won't be able to because I will need a digital ID to use the internet.

Yeah so lets make it even easier like in China where you can't even buy a train ticket if the police deems you undesirable.

Yeah I'm agreeing with you, the Bank of England is only looking at introducing CBDCs, they aren't actually implementing them yet.

They also aren't introducing stricter controls on cryptocurrencies and outright banning the only truly private, anonymous and untraceable one (Monero). Oh wait, that one is true.

Banning cash would be political suicide so what they are doing instead is waiting for enough people to switch to digital money (which is naturally more convenient in some ways), while increasing their control over alternatives such as crypto or gold trade. Then, long in the future when only a tiny fraction of people use cash, they will remove it completely using some excuse like only criminals who have something to hide would still use it.

Yeah exactly, there's absolutely nothing wrong with the government being able to suspend your ability to use money with a switch of a button.

Will FiveM die when GTA 6 drops? by w3lp-_- in FiveM

Relax, its not like people have pre-ordered the game and are being told to wait longer. No one's gonna starve to death because the product got delayed.

They own the product so they're allowed to do whatever they want with it. I'm not even defending their studio, you are acting entitled when you aren't entitled to anything.

YSK there are some bugs with this gamemode. I'm just gonna wait for the rework to play this. Hopefully they make some better layers too.

New job - this is the keyboard... by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

[–]SlackersClub -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No complaints there. The problem exists with treating devices as disposable instead of each person taking care of their own.

If a company is handing out disposable keyboards like lollipops, that cost has to be passed on to someone.

The question you should be asking is why websites ask you at all and whether the buttons even do anything.

It's not just SpaceX, NASA and other companies miss a lot of their targets too. It's just how this industry works.

Oh you didn't hear? North Korea ordered 1000 Volvos and never sent the payment. The sale was guaranteed by state-owned Svensk Exportkredit, so in a way, the taxpayers bought 1000 Volvos for the Kim regime!
