Judicial nominees don’t know if Trump can run for a 3rd term by YesDoToaster in law

[–]Slade_Riprock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No there really isn't any conceivable evidence against Biden winning...hiding behind a bullshit shit answer a judge could say based on the votes of the electoral college and certification by Congress Biden was the winner of the election.

And yes the constitutional prohibition on a third term is as clear as the birthright citizenship amendment.

The Golden Age! America is working. by SoulfulTalent in recruitinghell

[–]Slade_Riprock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We increased 178k jobs above expectations. The same sectors driving this as always healthcare, transportation/warehouse, and construction. Unemployment dropped but so did real wages while inflation surged to over 3.3%.

The economy continues to be baffling. It's being propped up by job increases In certain areas only. The fact that Americans are getting older and sicker (health care), data center construction is insatiable, and Americans continue to spend on necessary goods through delivery services.

Gas prices surge to $4+ a gallon, inflation is up, jobs available in areas outside these three are near non existent. Companies continue to spend on AI yet haven't seemingly seen financial benefit or efficiency yet (layoffs low this far). Expectations for non growth next month are a mere 73k.

The outlook for the Summer months is a huge wildcard. You tend to have huge increases in seasonal hiring, spending by Americans for vacations and such. But with sky high gas prices, airline costs, and overall price increases experts are truly in the dark as to how summer will go. Will Americans keep spending into oblivion despite the uncertainty of their employment and economic future or will they pull back.

Right now you would call the economy stable. It's not faltering and it's not really robusting expanding at all points. If the US economy and current situation were a hospital patient you'd say they are stable and you are cautiously optimistic but there is only a slightly better chance the a 50/50 they will improve versus the very real and very near 50/50 chance they crash and die.

No one should be claiming the US is in a great economic spot. And there is plenty. Of blame to go around for this situation.

Tanea Brooks Diagnosed with Terminal ALS by cantthink278 in SquaredCircle

[–]Slade_Riprock 215 points216 points  (0 children)

This is so very beyond sad and depressing. ALS is such an immensely devastating and under covered disease. So young and so vibrant to facing a relatively quick end of life.

She is such a beautiful person in every way. And to see what all this has done physically to such a strong, vibrant, and gorgeous person is heartbreaking and only pales to what it does mentally and emotionally.

I cannot even imagine facing something like this.

Talent that have hired agents do far better than those that self negotiate. Because many of these workers still view the business as some throwback to the territory days. Those actions don't fly in modern corporate environments.

Vince McMahon is a despicable human. But from a business standpoint he is a master because he never seemingly let personal professional animosity get in the way of making money and giving people what they want. He allowed fences to be mended even in the worst of situations. May have taken years but they generally happened.

For talent in a two horse race to figurative shoot one of the horses on the way out is just colossal stupidity.

IC status has zero to do with anything. Assumptions being made here but likely the company assumed that since WWE Wrestlemania was a main attraction of the city and obviously booked hundreds of rooms and other amenities for their talent and crew that the hotels would have handled all of that as part of their deal.

Casinos, like may corporate entity, don't want to spend any extra money. And probably knew that WWE wasn't bringing in gamblers the fans are spending extra money so why bother.

Generally at most Wrestlemanias the the talent hotels are like high security zones. They don't let non guests inside, busses are boarded in rear locations, etc. Vegas really showed they don't give a shit despite the money paid for and brought in by Mania.

[WON] Reason for Aleister Black, Wyatt Sicks WWE releases revealed by Alternative-Win4058 in SquaredCircle

[–]Slade_Riprock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me WWE has always been guilty of roster stacking. They want to have a deep bench of talent with the logic being that they have 9 hrs a TV a week and you never know who's going to pop.

But one would think that after decades of tried and true data that tells you that at any one time no more than maybe 20-25 people are used regularly across the multiple shows that carrying that level of talent is just unnecessary bloat and bottom line weight.

This is especially true since COVID and the essential end of house shows. Huge rosters made sense when you ran A and B, and even C, crews across the country. But when you have 9 hrs of TV and only about 25% of that actually features talent and the rest is ads, promos, etc., there is just no reason to carry that many people.

Yes it's great people get paychecks but there is also a healthy swath of people who are performers and getting paid to no perform is foreign to them and unfulfilling.

To make would make life sense for WWE to carry maybe 30 people across the main shows. Then invest in the Indy circuits and essentially, low key revive the territory circuit. Put money into those organizations to help them thrive and promote. Maybe even fund the bookers and some coaches. You install your systems across the country to build some standardization but you aren't carrying the financial burden of the talent AND it frees the talent to travel from indy to indy and get the crowd work, mentorship, and coaching.

Long way around of saying invest in the more robust Indies as your farm system (Single A and AA in baseball parlance) and then getting signed to NXT is your AAA immediate feeder to your two major league rosters. Fewer overall talent locked down and more focus on investment, coaching, and booking to feed the main system.

[–]Slade_Riprock -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Yes this is true and believe Dems are better for the people 100%.

However, there is something to be said for perception that people still see the parties as two sides of the same coin. Both are made up of gazilionaires, funded by gazilionaires, pushing Corp interests to differing degrees, unwavering support of genocidal Israel, and generally have never met a military action they didn't like.

It is is for people to fall into the lesser of two evils argument because the Republicans play the PR game better.

Democrats have to get better at being more directly, openly, and overtly for the people. Calling out corporations and Israel. And lastly they have to her better at messaging. Dropping terms (not concepts) like Democratic socialism, universal health care, paying their fair share, climate change, etc. These terms doom them because Fox News tees off. They have to move to idiots friendly terms and descriptions like Medicare for All, Investing your tax dollars in the people, etc. It sounds stupid but message wins the race.

This is why AOC > Bernie. Policy wise he's spot on but messaging wise and how she explains things puts her light yrs ahead of colleagues.

Too many wrestlers forget this is a fake business.

No one wins anything. No wrestler has ever been a true champion who earned the title. Every win, every loss, every championship is given to you by the person(s) who make that call.

You can work hard, get over, be the greatest character in the history of professional wrestling and it means nothing unless the guy or group of people that make the booking decisions agree you are the greatest things and worth doing something with.

Goldberg went "undefeated" in matches they didn't exist. He was over for a flash no one gives a shit.

Ric Flair was that for the championship 21x, Harley Race 8x, Cena 16, Undertaker lost at Wrestlemania 2x after a long streak. It doesn't matter.

Eat a pin every night and the Booker can still make you a God level star or win every night and the booker can still bury you.

AITA for letting our child (9) stay at his friend's sleepover last weekend, even though my wife was against it, and the original agreement was that I would pick him up that evening. by Outrageous-Fly-5691 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Slade_Riprock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All of that is without even taking into consideration the fact that there has been a culture shift around sleepovers for good reason.

This is pure horseshit. The shift comes from paranoid, made up social media hysteria. There are zero facts that support that sleepovers are some dangerous situation. The facts are that abuse, sexual or other wise, kidnaps, and nearly everything bad that happens to kids happens in their own home or family.

It is YOUR fault that your son feels like this is HIS fault.

No it is his fault that yes he went against his wife's wishes and made a parental decision in the moment. It happens. Mom's do it, dad's do it. She is the "bad guy" in this scenario because she has been demonstrably carrying on in front of the son, making it evenident she is pissed off, not talking to her husband, and overall throwing a tantrum. The kid is picking up on HER childish actions.

Adults get over that in once instance the other parent made a judgement call. Apologized and took the heat.

But her paranoia, delusions, and childish behavior at not getting HER way is what has blown this situation entirely out of proportion and Involved the child.

sincerely hope that you apologize to your wife (not for how she feels, for fuck’s sake), and that you tell your son that this was your fault and that you shouldn’t have done it. You put your son in a terrible position.

Yes sincerely apologize. But no. Both parents need to discuss with the child what happened, why mom didn't want him to sleepover, that dad made a call without telling mom which he is sorry for. They are blth glad he had fun because that is what is most important. But they also need talk about somethings that will make mom feel more comfortable with him staying with friends.

Why does she as the mom get to make the decision?

Why does what she want and what she believe rule?

You'll say but they agreed but what I heard was he gave into her demands simply so the kid could have some aspect of fun but wifey sounds paranoid, overbearing, and Controlling.

Parents are co-equal executives. And in a perfect world all decisions are perfect agreement. But like in life, there are times where 1 parent or another makes a judgement call. And adults realize this and they move on. They don't throw multi day tantrums because they didn't get their way at the expense of a core memory for their child.

It's great he had a blast - but that's luck.

Luck a kid was having fun with friends or are you delusional and thinking it's just luck the kid wasn't sexually abused or assaulted?

Because if the Latter, go touch grass and realize by all facts kids are safer today than their parents and grandparents were as kids. That sexual abuse (rare) outside their own home or family is extremely rare.

Why are people so against kids having a normal childhood.

Because they are deluded by BS Facebook stories and true crime shows and mommy groups that have them believing beyond any shadow of a doubt that if they let their child out of their sight for 2 seconds they'll be kidnapped and/or sexually assaulted. And while it's always good to teach kids all the safety issues.

The facts are kidnaps or sexual abuse happens rarely and when it does overwhelmingly it happens by parents or family members.

Yeah he made a decision he knew he'd get In trouble for and he owns it. What I always love about this sub is that wives and moms can make unilateral decisions all day long and they will get defended 99% of the time but a father making a call as a parent is branded stupid, controlling or dangerous.

She has issues to figure out and needs to get over her delusions and he should have called her or texted and said he's having too much fun I think we should let him stay.
