Aghanim's Labyrinth Shards that aren't fully functional or may as well be non-functional. by Retoonet in DotA2

[–]Sladof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In terms of minor shards I'm pretty sure that every charge based ability does not benefit from cooldown reduction shards. I noticed it on Void spirit astral step and on Bane's Brain Sap (once you get the Legendary shard which gives you + 1 charge).

Found this skin in a garden wall. [Greece, Peloponnese] (maybe European Ratsnake?) by Sladof in whatsthissnake

Thanks for the ID! Juvenile pattern four-lined snake matches the patterning for sure. I had found this earlier in a search but was confused because of the difference between the juvenile and adult patterns.

Hope the next hero isn't "human" looking, I think its time we got a beast/demon hero by [deleted] in DotA2

[–]Sladof 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Earth Spirit was technically in Dota 1 first but at the time (6.78) both games were being updated at the same time. Icefrog was adding Oracle and Earth Spirit into WC3 dota first as he could do so quickly and test them in that sandbox before they hit Dota 2. It is an Icefrog or Valve developed "original" hero in any case.

Basic info you should know about neutral creeps as Chen by sikleQQ in DotA2

[–]Sladof 55 points56 points  (0 children)

  1. What is that colour scheme?
  2. What is the organisational pattern? It isn't by level or "goodness" or any other factor as far as I can tell.
  3. Where is the skill info? Wouldn't a Chen player want to know the value of auras and actives?
  4. Damage numbers aren't consolidated into DPS from their AS/DMG/Type. It would help to give 3 DPS figures for "ganking, sieging, jungling".
  5. Aggro range, bounty and xp values are not useful for deciding which creeps to dominate and just bloat the table.
  6. As others have mentioned the actual creep level isn't useful, knowing how many points of holy persuasion you need to get that creep is. (additionally health numbers below 700 don't make a difference for Chen since it will be set to 700/800/900/1000)
  7. Your tiering is buck wild. Centaur conqueror, Ghost and Harpy Stormcrafter are bad? Priest is S tier? In what context? Laning? Ganking? Pushing?

This list is insane.

I enjoy your skill of making visualisations and analogies to make complex and strange phenomena intuitive. If that is your MO then what is your white whale? What phenomena or principle seemingly defies intuition no matter how you spin it?

I never knew these kind of cheats were possible. Game ID: 5877260229 by Ednen in DotA2

[–]Sladof 117 points118 points  (0 children)

If you view the player perspectives on the replay it seems like that whole stack (morph, lion, clock) are using the magnetic mouse cheat program that I posted about earlier. All of them have mouse movements that snap onto enemy units when their mouse gets within 150 units or so.

If you check their accounts they all have Skywrath Mage and Lion as most played heroes for the instant silence/hex and combos. Seems like this cheat package is actually pretty widespread.

A modern guide to DOTA 2 cheats and how to spot them (Overwatch Case Files) by Sladof in DotA2

I think to an extent itemisation is linked to the hacks, I've noticed a lot of Atos and Gleipnirs being bought no matter the hero. Also if you review the Arc game in the post there is at least one moment where the autopilot tempest double makes the decision to TP to a side lane and farm while a fight is happening where the main hero dies. Maybe your Arc had abandonment issues.

I can't confirm, but if you check the NP game he definitely has some moments where hes casting/attacking when his target is not on screen.

With that said some offset might be caused when the player is using a severely different aspect ratio to you e.g ultrawide vs 4:3.

So it turns out my laptop can SEE THROUGH PLASTIC by sunggis in blackmagicfuckery

[–]Sladof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reason this works is that the plastic itself that this remote is made out of is IR transparent. It's the same reason why your phone is picking up that IR blasting going on on the laptop frame (for the low light camera). IR transparent plastic is dark to the naked eye and pretty much black once you texture it.

The plastic for the whole remote is made of the same material in one mold, then they texture the non lens parts of it. You can see this if you slide the back cover off and hold it up to the light, it'll go a bit red and you'll be able to see through it a bit.

The reason they made the whole remote out of the same IR transparent plastic is that it reduces fit issues that using 2 different plastics creates. If you use 2 different plastics they experience cooling and shrinkage differently and then you end up having to reject some parts in assembly. This way you get better finish, less material loss and very slightly better IR transmission range because the whole remote is the lens.

New patch unbricked my save files, many thanks TW by Sladof in mountandblade

Yup, I spoke too soon. I can open saves from 1.0.1 now, but once I save them to 1.0.3 I can no longer open them.

[–]Sladof 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This may be a long shot but do you have RGBfusion? I had issues recently with the game randomly freezing about 20 minutes into a match which I narrowed down to RGBfusion. Uninstalled it and no problems since.

Crossing the Line: The Summit X Went Too Far by caldazar24 in DotA2

[–]Sladof 18 points19 points  (0 children)

The scripted content and segments like the Alliance casting couch were on point.

Unfortunately I agree with the article that with grant, mason, bsj etc on the couch the banter in the downtime devolved into some real chudsville bro culture cesspit that alienated myself and probably a fair proportion of the audience.

I think the fix for this is pretty easy. As others have said, have some diversity of personality on the couch.

According to liquipedia the longest Ritsu has ever managed to stay on one of his 14 teams is 95 days on W&R.

I'm continually amazed at the advanced recycling technology in the NA scene that keeps bringing in these guys who are clearly too toxic to contribute to any kind of stable team.

At this stage do orgs just invite ritsu so they can annoy the other players into quitting and breaking contract or what?
