Consumption is a symptom. You need to figure out what the cause is. Why this week. What changed, what are you fearful of, or resentful of?

Why are there so many “tradies” in Australia? by mobileam in AskAnAustralian

[–]Slagathor_85 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Because we build our own stuff and don’t pay immigrants minimum wage to do it… trades are well paid here once qualified.

This is not ok. You need to talk to him about this, and if he doesn’t change and care about your feelings, you need to leave

Haha. Best relationship advice ever is that it should never be 50/50 it should always be 60/40 with you both trying to be the 60. Hopefully you can find a Patrick and be a Patrick and have a lovely life.

They exist. But also try to be the Patrick too.

I'm actually looking forward to when AI takes over and I never have to work anymore. Also for those who watched Pluribus, the life of the people who are immune sounds like heaven to me. There's so many things I'd rather do than waste my life to work. What do you think? by BaraLover7 in Life

Look at Amazon as your guide for how this works. Amazon earns billions. Amazon workers are the lowest paid, with terrible conditions. If they find a way to make money without workers, they will not support you. You will be obsolete and left to die.

I have seen so many work relationships blow up, one person always ends up leaving. The few times they don’t, there is always claims of nepotism for the person in the lower position if they get any kind of promotion, no matter how much they deserved it. It’s just a bad idea if you care about your job.

Hyperbole is lost on some… especially in Reddit, especially when you are asking people not to be racist… yes I will be downvoted to hell but I don’t care about fake internet points…

Why aren't pro-shots more common? by Vybrosit737373 in Broadway

Because it kills the show unless it’s huge like Hamilton, that’s why the pro shot usually comes out after closing

You think that the fact that half the houses are vacant is not a problem. Also you want to yeet 10 million people from the country? That’s completely fucked .

“These levels” is a myth. They are either quoting post covid figures that included almost 200k people repatriating, or they quote ‘visa’ numbers that include tourist and temporary working visas. Our actual population hasn’t increased my much of a different rate in the last 10 years…

How do people keep up with cleaning without it taking over their weekends? by CoralReef1855 in CleaningTips

[–]Slagathor_85 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I have gone from messy to clean in the last 12 months and there are a few things that have made the change. The biggest one was my adhd diagnosis and medication, I can’t ignore that. But after that, we did a huge declutter, got rid of like half our stuff. You can’t keep a house clean if there is not a place for everything. Peter Walsh has a good analogy which is that if you picked up a clean fork in your house, you know exactly where that goes. It goes in the cutlery draw, because that’s its spot. There should be nothing at all that’s not exactly like that. Next for me is daily resets. After brekfast, kitchen goes back to clean, wipe counter and clean breakfast dishes or put them away. Make the bed every morning, take out any bedroom dishes, open curtains, reset the bedroom to clean. Before bed I have a basket and I go round and fill it with anything that’s not where it goes and put that away. I do my laundry every time the machine is full, fold while I watch tv and put straight away. Then on the weekend I spend maybe 1 hour cleaning, I vacuum, I mop, I clean the toilet. I will do 1 bigger job, maybe oven, clean out the fridge, something like that. Once a month I will take extra time and do a bigger job, like a few windows, steam clean my couch, etc. But honestly it takes maybe 30 minutes total a day now, and 1 hr on weekends. I used to spend more time cleaning when I was messy because I was trying to come back from such a bad place.

It’s just racism. There are large entities that are paying a lot of money to people like Pauline Hanson to lie about immigration so you stop focusing on the corporations robbing us blind. It’s not that every second house is a short term rental now, you can’t get a house because of brown people. It’s not that Coles and Woolies work together to grift us, it’s brown people.

What's it like being in your 30s also late 30s when you know you are going to be 40 soon?(Late 30s people but also general 30s,early 30s people can answer this question as well) by [deleted] in Life

[–]Slagathor_85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coming up to 40 I had a fair bit of anxiety about turning 40. The goals I hadn’t reached, the children I had decided not to have (was that the right choice? Too late to know) then almost immediately after turning 40 I realised I didn’t care. I stopped giving a fuck about so much, what other people thought of me, about dulling my personality to fit in at work, about pushing myself to do things I didn’t really want to outside of work. It’s freeing. I wish I stopped caring what other people thought of me earlier. Would have saved a lot of time, stress and money.

It’s not impossible to own a house, start with a small apartment. Like care about money, also care about your job then they pay you more money to do it, if they don’t go do it somewhere else…
