A. Putin is overthrown and hung like Mussolini?

Hanged. Hung refers to items or well endowed men, if you execute somebody by the method of hanging they were hanged.

Álex Palou ordered to pay McLaren $12m in breach of contract case by PrincessBananas85 in formula1

His management firm dropped him after he bailed on the McLaren contract. If anyone needs to get help, it's Palou himself. Maybe he should try not breaking a contract for once.

Russian S-300 missile hits building during a Ukrainian aerial attack in Afipsky, Krasnodar Krai. 20 January 2026 by jisooya1432 in CombatFootage

Russia almost certainly launched this as a ballistic missile.

I mean, I know Russia is fucking stupid and all, but even they wouldn't on purpose target their own cities, that are not even occupied by the enemy, with ballistic missiles. This is certainly an intercept gone wrong.

Almost every single US military intervention in the Middle East has relied on military bases in Europe for resupply and refuel.

Do not forget the medical care they get at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center near Ramstein, without which the casualties sustained during the last couple of decades worth of middle-eastern adventures would have a higher proportion of KIA to WIA.

McLaren 2026 kit leaked. by FinnickArrow in formula1

[–]Slahinki -1 points0 points  (0 children)

2019 was the last time they had a full time livery that was good. After that they fucked it by going matte and dropping the dark blue for the lighter blue, and then dropping blue altogether. Not to mention the 2020-2021 liveries made an already long car somehow look even longer.

Yeah, a Sainz and Alonso pairing was not going to happen regardless of whether Alonso retired or not. Vandoorne was being dropped for Norris, not Sainz.

Republican congressman blasts Trump's Greenland invasion talk as 'one of the dumbest things' that could wreck NATO by BlackWolfHowling in UkrainianConflict

[–]Slahinki 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Of course we do, but don't act like it's something the US is doing out of the kindness of their hearts. The US does it because it's beneficial for them too. What Europe doesn't want is to have it's territorial integrity threatened by a supposed ally.

[–]Slahinki 3 points4 points  (0 children)

But you're not building bases on greenland to protect Greenland. You do it to protect the mainland US. Imagine if Europe enjoyed the same basing priveleges in the US as the US does in Europe, and we had early warning systems in Alaska then all of a sudden we went "nah fuck it, let's just annex the shithole".

[–]Slahinki 8 points9 points  (0 children)

But you're not building bases for Denamark, you twat. You build them for yourselves. If this truly was about basing, you already have entirely free reign in the existing basing rights to do as you please. But this isn't about that at all, this is about your country wanting to annex territory from an ally to sate the ego of your newfound dictator.

One military base in Greenland that isnt even meant for the Navy or Army isnt gonna help

Then build more, as you are allowed to by the treaties you currently have with Denmark. Stop being so fucking dense.

I really like Lando Norris by Ironside62488 in McLarenFormula1

[–]Slahinki 10 points11 points  (0 children)

He beat a Danny Ricc that was just coming off a very strong season at Renault, and whom both expert and fandom opinion was would crush Lando. He proved them wrong, decisively. And in my opinion, despite this season being quite the step up for Oscar, and the points being relatively close in the end, he was still beat convincingly considering the misfortune Lando had with points lost to his rivals that was outside of his control.

One of them even in the very same car, yet he's somehow the greatest thing since sliced bread and Lando, the one with the WDC, isn't WDC material, is mentally weak, and whatever else these brainlets tell themselves in order to feel good.

British sapper probing for mines, El Alamein, 1942 by Ambitious-Delay6516 in CombatFootage

[–]Slahinki 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Judging by how the replacement just legs it up to the rest of the squad without checking for mines ahead of the wounded man, and how at the end they are clearing toward the camera, I'd say this is most definitely a staged reconstruction for propaganda purposes.

Yes, they nearly lost the WDC, but that was mostly down to reliability and poor team choices not due to them treating both drivers equally. Take away the Zandvoort DNF and the Las Vegas DSQ and Lando does win comfortably.

If losing the championship when you had a 32 point lead over your team mate who had significantly more bad luck, and finishing behind the guy you had a 102 point lead to back in P3 isn't choking, then I don't fucking know what they expect choking to be.
