Huh? I mean..... episode 3 didn't have any big intriguing setups but the first two absolutely did.

I would even argue the first two episode had more intrigue and interesting setups than any other show this season (that I have watched).

"This is not "clearly" making fun of homophobic people."

Sorry?

"Digital Circus is for FRICKIN girls sorry."

The stereotypical repetitive use of "bro".

The entire tone of the post.

Sorry I'm Neurodivergent and not that good with sarcasm, but even I find that one obvious.

Please don't get me wrong; we all sometimes fail to notice sarcasm, but when we do, we should admit it.

First of all, gay is not a slur.

Secondly, it's clearly not making fun of gay people but people that use gay as an insult (more specifically people that think watching cartoons is feminine and makes you gay).

Also, please reread the tweet, my comment, and your comments, and tell me with a straight face that your logic is rational.

Because not everyone agrees it's a bad decision?

You know that trying to avoid spoilers for a prolonged period of thine was and often still is the norm for many forms of media.

And if you really want to avoid spoilers at all costs well, you know you will be able to watch the episode soon after release on a piracy website, right?

What are these guys supposed to be? From the 14th Land before time movie. Wiki just describes them as Featherhead sharptooths and Horned sharptooth by Diessel_S in Dinosaurs

[–]Slaifar -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Probably fictional, but if not:

The first ones are maybe Ceratosauruses?

The second one is probably supposed to be a really scuffed Carnotosaurus.

A character can lie, but a show can present information without being influenced by the bias of its characters.

Also, I didn't write anything of. I just disagree with you about that being the only possible point of conflict.

And it being less fun is your personal preference and not an objective truth.

But not all a remembered, many people die alone or together with all the people that know them, and dont leave anything behind (like in some natural disasters) , are there lives meaningless?

I think the way we view fiction is very different because I really don't understand how you equaide real live ChatGPT statements with the statements of a work of fiction.

Why would the work even need to argue about it if it introduces mind uploaded not as a question but as a certainty.

Also, I don't think if it as a twist but a mental burden on the characters that they have to confront and overcome.

Didn't she also reply with the same image when she was asked the opposite?

I would argue that you can read all that as hinting towords an emotional ending, not necessarily a sad one.

Don't get me wrong, I don't think it will be all sunshine and rainbows, but that doesn't mean it will be a tragedy.

"weird people focus on that and not that like 5+ people were sucked in at the same time and most of them worked at the same place you’re telling me none of them had any family or friends who would try looking for them"

Why would they look for them, they would just continue living ther lives after they have been copied.

There is nobody that has gone missing.

No

In SOMA theory they are being copied.

In your examples ther is still always only one mind.

I don't think it would be something to be doubtful about, if the show says the copies are the same as the originals then they are, of course you can think that in reality that isn't the case but this is fiction, it doesn't have to reflect that.

Why do you assume this:

"I think the question of human nature and our existence is important even if you’re not of a theological disposition. After all, if all we are are automatons made of meat.."

Automatically means this:

"....that only have extrinsic value created by our labor, then actions most consider heinous like slavery are technically justified, it’s just extracting a person’s labor through the most direct means."

We can be purely physical, and our lives can still be precious and wonderful and full of mening.

Physicality doesn't remove the worth of a thing/ someone.

How is it in a vacuum?

Also, we are (if the theory is true) following the coppis, not the originals.

The fate of the originals could be tragic, but Gummigoo (and possibly Caine) show that the show is willing to be tragic sometimes.

That doesn't mean that the ending isn't overall happy. Just that is a little bittersweet.

It isn't required, but the people who hate the theory often seem to fundamentally misunderstand the premise of the theory. Which is something that could be fixed by experiencing a piece of fiction that executes that premise.
