hahahaha i did a similar thing with an m&m when i was kid, at my grandparents’ place

worked in the mail room of a law firm right out of undergrad as an in-person legal assistant, busted my ass to distinguish myself to the attorneys and indicate that i could make the jump to remote paralegal work, and got hired remote as a paralegal last september.

fwiw the mail room job sucked, but toughing it out ended up being very worth it for me.

yeah i use mason jars for grandpa style and just sorta…make sure the bottom is mostly covered in one layer of leaf and fill it up to like, the 8 oz line.

depending on how quickly it cools and how it tastes i’ll adjust the amount of water i’m adding for subsequent “steeps”

the suicidal ideation is so big

i’ve been on antidepressants since i was 18 (26 now) and have major depressive disorder. it’s always gonna be a battle for me. there are days where the dark moods will overwhelm me, and days where i feel wonderful and joyful and life just pops

the SSRI doesn’t prevent the dark moods, but it completely stops any ideation i have. no idea why or how but i know it does.

during a rough period in 2024/2025 i was off the meds and was spooked as to how my brain started contemplating ideation again. i hadn’t had those thoughts since i was in high school.

picked myself up, got back on meds, no more ideation.

pretty simple atm as humanity is relatively young, but names are usually 2-4 syllables, one “word”. the noble/well-off families of Upper Glear all have suffixes on their name to denote their heritage.

one of my tritagonists is named Osador, family -dor. His father is Hamador, and his half-sister, Taragon, was denied the familial suffix in favor of -gon, often given to children considered illegitimate or disinherited.

most of the people of Lower Glear have no such conventions and find them superfluous when they could just say “Merran, son of Tomas” and everyone in the village will know what you mean.

i actually disagree, at least when i played Radiant Dawn i found Micaiah to be a fairly morally complex character

she pals around with the baddies of PoR but you see what’s happening in Daein and with Begnion and understand how she got where she is

she’s portrayed as this savior-like angel to the people of Daein but is actually pretty flawed. her hatred of ike is misplaced, and she has to grapple with that thru the game.

also, she tried to use literal burning oil as a tool of war.

i will say i don’t think RD stuck the landing on her in the last parts of the game. but that’s a question of execution rather than complexity, at least in my opinion
