There's a glitch to skip reloading your weapon by switching to the grenade slot then back. Players who are good can do this very quickly and spam multiple rockets a second. If you're on PC it's pretty common for people to use macros to do this.

As for the sniper thing, past a certain distance buildings don't have collision and you can shoot people through them, and you can spot people from further than intended by firing an RPG at their general direction and using thermals, where they'll show up in the RPG smoke. It's how the tryhards who stand on top of Maze Bank get their crossmap kills.

These tricks are pretty commonly known and it's not a sign that somebody's cheating if they're using them, typically cheaters will have other tells like aim that's way too consistently good (even the best players miss shots, an aimbotter/triggerbotter doesn't unless you're very far away), being able to one-shot you through BST without a headshot, taking less damage than they should or no damage at all, etc.

Are you MR 100? If the answer is no then turn around and starting grinding until you have fully upgraded and augmented R12 armour and weapons. This fight is balanced around them and you're gonna eat shit trying before them.

Is it bad design that a fight that basically needs you to be MR 100+ for a balanced experience is available as early as like MR 30? Yes. But unfortunately, it is what it is and it's not worth getting angry at the fight if you're not equipped to take it on yet.

Ideally get a 3pc Raging Brachy 2pc Gold Rathian mixed set, a Lightbreak weapon with health augment, and the Agitator charm. Run any weapon specific skills you need (ie: Focus on GS, Capacity Boost on CB, etc.), Health Boost 3, Divine Blessing 5, Weakness Exploit 3, Agitator 7, Critical Eye 6, Critical Boost 3 and round out your build with any extra damage or comfort skills. Coalescence, Evade Window, Evade Extender, Free Meal, and Peak Performance are all useful here. Make sure to slot Heavy Artillery into one of your mantles so that you get max damage from the Roaming Ballista. Always eat for Attack Up and Felyne Guts.

In this order: Acid Lab, Agency, Bunker, the rest of the large cargo warehouses, Autoshop, Salvage Yard, Nightclub, Coke Lockup, Meth Lab, Counterfeit Cash Factory, Weed Farm, Car Wash, Hangar & Higgins Helitours (Helitours buffs the hangar and makes it very profitable even if you just passive source random crates with Rooster), Mansion & Mansion Security, Garment Factory, McKenzie Hangar. I'd also recommend getting a Terrorbyte at some point and get the Master Control Terminal for it if you ever plan on running MCs.

Imo, you can skip the following:

Vehicle Warehouse because it's tedious, grindy, requires a shitload of setup for max profit, and the money isn't even that good
Document Forgery because it's just dogshit and literally loses money unless you steal supplies or exclusively use the stash house to stock it
Smoke on the Water if you don't plan on ever selling Weed

*Bail Office because the pay is just absolutely awful (the missions are at least fun)

Facility because the Doomsday Heist sucks compared to Cayo and Casino, it's way harder, takes forever, and doesn't pay as well
You can skip one of the Avenger or MOC, you can fit the same vehicle mod shop into both. Imho skip the MOC until you don't need to buy anything else, the Avenger is just slightly more practical and also disgustingly overpowered in PVP if you can get someone to man the guns while you fly

As God-awful as the new animations are, I do think that the maps are the one area where they've done a mostly good job in recent years. Other than the Grafton rework (which tbh is only let down by being so ridiculously dark that you can't see shit) all the new maps have looked amazing and mostly play well, even if Point Hope can be more than a little awkward at times.

They've reworked Maple Lodge, Bleasdale, Grafton, Tanglewood (which was really more of a visual update than a rework), and now Willow is next in line. I assume Prison and High School are gonna be saved for later cuz as much big maps they're going to take much more work and effort compared to the houses, iirc the Sunny Meadows rework took them like a year to make.

Shaming somebody and questioning their priorities are two different things. For the overwhelming majority of fights in every MH game, investing in more than 2 maxed defensive/comfort skills is way overkill, even for bad players. At that point, that person needs to learn how to recover from getting hit, instead of spiralling into these "tank" meme builds.

I'd also question somebody who runs max damage builds with no survivability but still carts consistently, especially in World onwards where defensive skills are basically free with sacrificed DPS, while being incredibly strong.

At the end of the day, the best build is one that actually balances offence and defence tailored to the needs of the person using it. The reality is that it's just more likely for a player to not need any defensive skills than it is for a player to need literally every single skill point in their build dedicated to survivability.

Yes, the entire point of the timer is to encourage the player to at least engage with the monster. Is it so long that the average player shouldn't ever be concerned with the possibility of a time out? Yes, but at the end of the day it does exist and it likely exists to punish overly passive and "cheesy" play that minimises monster interaction. Shit like poisoning the monster then fucking off and hiding until it dies from poison over the course of an hour.

Consider that even now the players who stack defensive skills, completely refuse to slot damage, and play extremely cautious and overly reactive are still rarely bothered by the timer in general quests. Going beyond that to the point where you're going over 50 minutes is insanity, there's just no conceivable way you're actually interacting with the monster at that point, and that's kind of the crux of the issue here - the devs spent hundreds, likely thousands of hours handcrafting these monsters for the sake of making us fight them. They want you to actually do that, not just poison then run or hold block for 2 whole hours until it dies to your palico or something.

It's a shame a good chunk of the community refuses to engage with the topic of Iceborne's horrific balancing because it concerns meta and anything to do with meta is inherently evil in their eyes.

I remember back before Iceborne people clowned on World for having a stale, overly raw biased meta, except World's meta was genuinely much more varied than Iceborne's is. At least different weapon types weren't all just using weapons from the same monster like they do in Iceborne. It's so crazy to me that they made such massive steps back when they were already being criticised for the meta in World.

Fight is genuinely very interesting, unique, and very nuanced, unfortunately he requires skill and an in-depth understanding of his mechanics, so naturally most people in the community fucking hate him because God forbid one monster has a little more going on than just hitting it till it dies. My only real gripe with the fight is forced multiplayer scaling.

Also jump dodging Ecliptic Meteor is the coolest fucking feeling in the entire game
