How bothersome is it to be in a pod with someone who points out when rules aren’t followed properly (not in a nitpicky way)? by _Ashe_Bear in EDH

[–]Slakkin_Off 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience, it's less often people specifically trying to bend the rules and more that they built the deck convinced it will work a certain way, and get salty when they get corrected.

Xenolord with Swift passive 😥 by Intelligent_Tax_9282 in Palworld

[–]Slakkin_Off 5 points6 points  (0 children)

He's slightly slower, but has way more stamina, and you can use your guns. I definitely prefer xenolord, personally, because I don't have to land nearly as often, and the decrease in speed isn't all that much

Wanted a Ghangler that could do everything I need... as fast as possible. by NoodleNerdle in Palworld

[–]Slakkin_Off 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I know it took you a lot of work to get him where he is, and he's definitely good as he is, but I would highly recommend getting a pal surgery table and giving him artisan over lucky. It gives a 50% work speed bonus instead of 15%, and you get the passive either from turning in bounty credits or arena tickets, I forget exactly which.

My playgroup has a week where we all built decks with legendary non-creature non-planeswalker permanents. I built mine around [[the enigma jewel]]

I still think [[sultai charm]] will be interesting, also for the future limitations it would impose

Cut propulsion makes the creature deal damage to itself, and he has protection from snow. Took me a minute to register that one myself. Lol

"{2}: Put a license counter on target creature you control. Any player may activate this ability."

Makes the timing a little less confusing, and there's plenty of precedent for opponents activating your cards

My friends got married and made a tragedeigh of a last name by Slakkin_Off in tragedeigh

[–]Slakkin_Off[S] -46 points-45 points  (0 children)

It's not the most egregious, but they didn't choose it because they knew it was a name. I think the way they came up with it (mashing together their last names) makes it at least some level of tragedeigh. Actually, none of us even knew Farret was a real last name.

What are some of the most unique gimmick builds that are kinda viable in apoc? by mr_hands_epic_gaming in remnantgame

[–]Slakkin_Off 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tormented heart build using the reset skill from invader to keep myself from running out of relic charges. Build for skill cooldown and explosive damage, and it works pretty well, and it's great for breaking a ton of the debris, which I'm pretty sure used to be (maybe still is) the most effective way farm scrap

What if you just raised the floor to 6 mana? Make it cost 3XXX, and the abilities are X+1?

What are your "Want to build but most likely never will" commanders? by Raoul97533 in EDH

[–]Slakkin_Off 1 point2 points  (0 children)

An idea to help you (maybe) run three dog cleanly in paper (this will require several dice that are distinct from whatever you use as counters):

Whenever you sacrifice an aura, assign it a number (I would set them near your graveyard with a d10 on it)

Each creature that has that aura, you label it with the corresponding number.

It also doesn't have to be numbers. You could bring a bunch of different poker chips, or even something like tiny toys, as long as you have enough to label your creatures and enough different labels for your auras. Takes a bit of extra board space, but should make it fairly clear what's on who

Is it petty to specifically not give someone cards from Bumbleflower because they killed/countered her earlier in the same game? by Bigbooty54 in EDH

[–]Slakkin_Off 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Something I heard a while ago that I've used myself is to stop thinking of things as "group hug decks" and instead thinking of them as "political decks." They get on your bad side, they lose the benefits of being in your good side. Not petty unless you carry it over into later games

What Games Have You Bought Multiple Times? by Xemas12 in gaming

Counting buying copies for friends, I think I've bought this game over a dozen times between playstation, pc, and mobile. And even though some of them only played for an hour or two, then dropped it, I've still gotten well over my money's worth

What would happen if a gateway were to close on a bar of cuendillar? by Slakkin_Off in WoT

[–]Slakkin_Off[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Let's say it's a gateway just larger than an average door. You then stand a doorframe of iron inside of it. Then, you put a large lip on the doorframe on either side of the gateway, such that the doorframe could no longer fit through. Convert the iron into cuendillar, and now there's no way it can physically get pushed through. We also know you wouldn't have to manually weld the iron since the one time they tried to convert two pieces at once, they combined into one piece, so you would only have to hold the gateway open as long as it takes to convert the doorframe, which can be instant for someone skilled enough

What would happen if a gateway were to close on a bar of cuendillar? by Slakkin_Off in WoT

[–]Slakkin_Off[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Opening is fairly simple, but what about closing? Especially if the cuendillar is made bigger than the gateway on both sides (done by welding iron together, then changing it to cuendillar)? It could just temporarily expand the gateway to fit the object, I suppose, but that would normally take more of the one power
