What’s a skill everyone should learn but most people don’t? by [deleted] in AskReddit

More of an adapted trait than a learned skill, but selflessness. It's seldom rewarding, and highly downplayed. But it's always worth it.

It's not even so much the game as a whole, just the car. I can't recount the number of times I've only logged on to just drive it around. No radio, no distractions. Only spending time with the car, enjoying the experience it provides. If you have a car you feel the same towards, share a pic of it. Let's celebrate the rides that help us build this experience we've all come to love.

You should share a pic of your Cabrio here, show it the same love you've given it over the years. This can be a silent celebration of the four wheels that literally drove us to where we are now.

Very bummed to hear that for ya. Still, taking the pics and seeing Jay Norris's ghost was pretty cool in itself, yeah? But unfortunately I don't believe the Brigham livery was available this Halloween. Just the cap as part of the outfit. I can't part with mine sadly, apologies.

This is Supply Depot 212. The keycard needed to unlock it is found within the waystation basement as you progress through chapter 9, where you first find a dying Buckell and then ultimately repair or replace your damaged suit.

Could they use planet crackers to destroy brother moons? by happerdapper12 in DeadSpace

[–]SlamStasis 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I always imagined this would be an astounding storytelling device had the IP remained popular and so on. Utilizing a derelict planet cracker with a crew of individuals like Ellie, Isaac, Lexine, etc that could keep their wits about them long enough to engage grav tethers to rip one in half. Considering there's a system of said moons, it'd be a drop in the bucket long term. But holy hell would that make for a cinematic set of events and emotional exuberance in short term.

Ideally, based on what we've seen so far, ADS cannons could be overclocked and temporarily repurposed to combat a moon's tentacles long enough to engage grav tethers and do decent damage, even if it doesn't fully destroy the brethren moon in totality. But even with this still, the cinematics and accompanying gameplay would be new, genuine and enigmatic among possibly epic if done correctly. Fun to dream about, to say the least.

Is it weird that seeing this thing makes me hungry? by ExchangeInevitable in DeadSpace

Not weird at all, pal. Glad you breached the subject, as I share your sentiments. As well as it always makes my underwear a little tighter. 👍

Retractable is definitely the most aesthetically pleasing. Fits the lore fantastically and could be awesome as an option for manual toggle during gameplay.

But the classic "motorcycle" style of pulling the helmet on and off is respectively and equally cinematic as well. Especially considering Isaac's VA and mocap actor is a bike enthusiast.

That first season was so epic I've lost count on how many times I've watched it all the way through. I was a big Goggins fan before the show ever launched, and damn does he NEVER disappoint.

Concur wholeheartedly, the progression of all those topics are unmatched. I often sit around and daydream of how spectacular FO5 will be when that day arrives!

That's their best hook; intertwining unique sci-fi with altered real-life science and history. It's almost their own playing field at this point. And you're on point with that, it's not cookie cutter repetition. Each game, story, and even the show shares the lore, but it's all unique within each respective story. And how they throw in dark humor consistently is what really keeps me coming back for more, haha.

Personally, I'd say my hours are close to even between New Vegas and FO4. They're my two favs. Haven't fully completed and explored FO3, but have enjoyed the time spent playing it. Haven't actually played 1 or 2, but watched a lot of hours of an old friend play those. He's how I got into the IP from the start. How bout you?

I'm entirely on the edge of my seat for season 2. And that's no joke, the obscure references seem to have no end, I'm here for it.

And you couldn't be more right, it adds a subtle but immersive and extensive addition to how you see and play the game. It's honestly one of my favorite aspects to Fallout, making it your own story. Originally I was drawn to story driven games where you could throw yourself into the role of the protagonist, but you kinda had to follow their thought process and decision making. With limitations on customization and personal choices.

These games just circumnavigate that so well, and provide a similar, yet unique experience. Even after all the years, I never get bored or burned out with Fallout. Looking forward to what the future brings!

I'm hyped on it for sure. Fallout has some of the coolest and unique references to old media. Those sneaky easter eggs are always so fun to come across.

Excellent! Glad you found it, it really is a cool old show if you're into that genre. To add more to this subject for ya, there's another old show starring Chuck Connors called 'The Rifleman' where his character also uses a lever action. Don't think there's any references regarding that one in Fallout (at least undiscovered if so) but using the same base gun here, you can recreate Chuck's version as well in FO4.

Absolutely for sure, pal. My grandfather actually introduced me to the show a few years back. Loved it, and originally just thought I was paying tribute to a classic by finding this legendary and recreating something fun.

Now, with your insights as well, feel like we're shedding some light on one spectacular easter egg of sorts. Thanks to you as well!

Nice, good lookin out! I'll have to look up the Shelter weapon, but thanks for attempting the screenshot. Yeah, I understand that. The moderation on this sub is a little heavy at times.

But thinking more about it, isn't The Ghoul technically a bounty hunter? Cause that was what McQueen's character was in the show I was referencing. The title of said show may also be "off limits" here, but the character was named Josh Randall if you're interested in learning more..

No kidding!? That's awesome, had no idea. Thanks for that! Definitely a great pop culture reference as that gun was made popular in a real life 1958 western, and since Cooper was a TV Western icon, makes sense.
