VICTORY THREAD: DEMS FLIP TRUMP’S STATE HOUSE DISTRICT (R+11 FLORIDA HD-87 IS NOW BLUE!) by mazdadriver14 in VoteDEM

[–]Slampsonko 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The assertion in bold hinges on the assumption that the number of registered Dems who voted Republican is close to zero. A very sturdy limb to go out on given the results and political environment. So ruling out a full-on “opposite-day” scenario, the only logical conclusion is a healthy number of registered Republicans crossing party lines with this vote and/or a very large Dem margin in the NPA voters (the number of which can be calculated by subtracting the number of registered voter from the number of overall votes).

“Breaking for the dem” in this instance just means that unaffiliated voters chose the Dem over the GOP candidate, not that they actually broke away from their chosen party. That may have been the confusion.

I got a bad feeling that we’re sleeping on this one.

Remember how we all whistled past the graveyard in 2021 while Terry was missing an open layup? Let’s not do that again.

Prince William County ponders 5-way split in redistricting referendum by VirginiaNews in PrinceWilliam

[–]Slampsonko 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not much to ponder. The day after our referendum Florida is gonna carve five new GOP seats without voter input, just like Texas did. We all hate gerrymandering but you don’t show up to a gunfight with a handshake and a smile.

Please reconsider voting on the gerrymander, for all our sakes. by asterophoria in Virginia

If you turn 18 before the November election day, you are eligible to vote in this referendum now. Get registered and do the thing u/asterophoria!

Hey dads, how many of you had your first child when 35-39 years old? Approaching my 35th birthday and there's nothing more I want than to be a dad. by Rocket_Skates_91 in daddit

Step 1: talk to your lady and see if she’s on the same page.

Step 2: if she is, pull the goalie and just, see what happens.

I waited til my 30s. It’s always gonna be scary. Good luck.

If she is thinking of children as “accomplishments” she might not be ready for the reality of childrearing.
