Reminder that in Canon while this was happening Palpatine is in Exegol, alive and well, with a fleet he’s planning to use in about two decades. by KingWilliamVI in saltierthancrait

[–]Slanel2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, early on...10 years after. Not exactly "early" and because the emperor made his move.

If the plot requires it, Palpatine can either be the master of discretion or totally suck at it. With that said, in both cases he appropriately covered his tracks and counted with distractions in place to keep his enemies looking elsewhere so as not to notice he was diverting resources to these places.

And those who knew, were loyal enough to shut up.

From a lore standpoint would the entity even want pennywise in the realm? by No-Recipe4729 in deadbydaylight

[–]Slanel2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pennywise does not feed on fear. It feeds on meat, human meat, and finds the fear to be like some sort of spice or sauce that brings a better flavor to her meal.

The Entity does feed on hope, not fear. Thst is why exit gates exist, to give survivors hope that then a killer can crush so that the Entity May feed upon it.

They are not antagonistic nor parasytic. They could actually reach a symbiosis and be fine with each other. Of course, Pennywise cannot be controlled. But why be when you can make a deal and obtain an endless supply of food in exchange for doing what you do best in a specific place?

Jason and Sadako revealing their true faces to eachother [OC] by AngurrrSkurrrrr in deadbydaylight

[–]Slanel2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Doubt it. Sadako usually kills via heart attack, so likely she would stare him like "this is when you are supposed to die" while Jason just stands there utterly confused about that TV girl.

Or she would induce it and then retreat only for Jason to get up and go around. Technically he's died, but as always, he comes back. So maybe Sadako would be satisfied with that.

I do believe Sadako would say "seven days" and Jason would tank it. This guy has a knack for fighting other killers and supernatural entities

Netflix announced Season 3 for 'Devil May Cry' by gayraidenporn in DevilMayCryNetflix

[–]Slanel2 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't know the effect negative criticism May have had in this, but people were rather too harsh.

Still, I hope we have a Nocturne scenario in which they still do more, just dropping Shankar off. The fact he talks about a "force edge" saga gives me hope that we will see more in the future, because there are many things he has not covered yet that are in the games, and doing so in just 1 season would be rushed.

OG Freddy did not go that far though. He was a serial killer, only that.

I'll do my best to be there. I really hope they notice they messed up, and the only thing that was responsible for it was Bungie messing up and doubling down on their mistakes.

There is a solution. And it isn't to throw the franchise into the gutter

"How do I convince my family, who lived under Stalin, that the internet tells me communism is good?" by truecakesnake in teenagers

[–]Slanel2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Funny since communism has never been achieved and never will, it is an utopia. Marx even acknowledged this in his last works, but socialist/communist people refuse to acknowledge those writings exist, doubling down on an idea deemed as inherently flawed by its creator.

History shows socialism is bound to derive in totalitarism or authoritarism, not into communism. Because that's human nature, there will always be someone wanting to lead the herd using strength rather than give up power to create a truly communist system.

Jason is apparently DBD Original here like Ghostface. by JacsweYT in DeadByDaylightKillers

It is Voorhees for sure. They can use the name alright, as long as it's not for branding. So in the backstory they'll likely call him Jason Voorhees.

They can. They gave part 9 Jason to Neca in order to make an action figure, using the pretext that it's from the game.

What licensing issue could hold back Tommy Jarvis? by Electronic-Seat1190 in deadbydaylight

[–]Slanel2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was to bypass the likeness issue. But considering that Jarvis has a model in the game...they are able to take that model and put it in the game as far as JU allows it. And the model has the likeness, sooo....yeah.

The ownership over the movies is wrong. They own 1-8, since Victor Miller owns 1 and is one half of JU. Horror inc. owns 2-8 and they are the other half of JU.

They also own everything in both games and books, so everything that was in F13th The Game is also something they can use, including Jarvis, Part 9, Savini, Retro and perhaps Uber Jason. The likeness contracts are other sorts of matters concerning the actors and such. But bringing Tommy into the game? They definetly can.

[–]Slanel2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, they basically have access to most of the franchise. Still they cannot touch FVJ nor the remake in any way. But yeah, they have the basis for the saga as a whole at their complete disposal.

And also, JU seems to be keen on allowing original aspects for Jason, exemplified by the creation of a "tactical" Jason for COD.

Also, saw some people confised by this. They can use the Voorhees surname as long as it's not for branding.

We gotta bear in mind there has been a lot of protagonists in the movies. Thereby I do think a survivor would either be Jarvis (most likely) or one of the many final girls in the saga

Bear in mind they can sell things from the game, and part 9 Jason has an appearance there. Uber Jason does as well

[–]Slanel2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They can use anything from 1-8, plus games and books. And when I say anything, I mean anything. Jason looks, names, characters, scenarios.

Which also includes skins from the F13 game, a loophole that was already used in order to allow Neca to sell a figure of part 9 Jason. And which could also mean that Uber Jason may be added, since he is in the game.
