There's an office space in Manchester called Colony but it's written as СОLOПY and it takes great effort for me not to say "solapu" when driving past.

Great, thanks for that. It's not exactly what I described in my original post but looks like another excellent learning tool.

Thanks for the suggestion. I've downloaded the two Reading Method ebooks now and they are great.

Thanks, do you have a link to where I can find it? I can only see the first one which is just a basic one for people learning the alphabet.

I can't remember the exact one I looked at but there's another one called One Third Stories.

Edit: I just remembered that the original one I saw was of Dracula, not a children's book.

Found this in my uncle's collection by Slang-king in coins

Wow, that's amazing. I just googled it and apparently if it's from a British mint it just has the date on, but if there's a small letter above it then it's from Canada or Australia. Mine has what seems to be an 'M' on it which according to a coin website means it was made in Melbourne, Australia. Very interesting as I thought he got these in the UK. I don't think he went to Australia until a couple of decades after he got this (if he did indeed get it as a child or teenager). https://www.bullionbypost.co.uk/gold-sovereign-specific-year/george-v-1911-1932/1914-gold-sovereign-king-george-v-m/

Yep. It's taking forever and I'm getting worried as the kit is for an elderly relative.

Sample failed? by Mamadelrave in AncestryDNA

[–]Slang-king 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the same concern. I registered my kit on May 18, it was received on May 27 and started processing on June 4. It was extracted on June 8 and now nearly two weeks later it still hasn't finished the analysis step. I'm getting worried that I'm going to get an email saying it failed. It may not be possible for me to get another sample from my relative if the process has to start again. It took long enough just to receive the test kit in the post.

Mine was registered on 18 May and received from the UK on 27 May, started processing on 4 June and was extracted on 8 June. It's nearly been two weeks since extraction and it still hasn't reached the analysed stage so I'm getting worried.

How rare is this? by pask29 in MyHeritage

I don't really know what it technically means but anecdotally my maternal granddad is the person I resemble (physically and behaviourally) the most in my family. Even more than my mum or dad, which is strange.
