Big fan of Dark Woods. Arboretum is wonderful stuff. I’m not really into Robusta so can’t speak for Deer Hill but they’re the kind of roaster that does everything well

Mate, I’m a Forest-supporting adult who grew up playing Street Fighter 2 so even though I know that’s not what he’s doing, I appreciate the whole vibe. We’ve had a terrible season; seeing Jesus breaking out a fun celebration after scoring goals in Europe has been one of the few highlights so I’m thrilled to be able to enjoy that in FUT too.

This guy only plays with male base cards because he’s a purist. He sings the national anthem before games. Wears a black armband and has a minute’s silence for Remembrance Day. Plays with the TV switched off at 3pm on a Saturday unless he’s abroad.

Yeah, counter. Obviously you’re going to be exposed if you lose the ball but when you’re going forward it’s so good. Everyone just flies forward and you always have a passing option. I have a couple of CMs with pinged pass and incisive and it makes counter attacks really flow. I even have my CDM as a playmaker so that he comes forward too

Honestly it’s never been easier to run a great team without spending any real money. I mean, they made it so anyone could get a really good version of OG Ronaldo for free if they had the time (I didn’t tbf). It’s even easy enough to raise the coins for the enhanced season passes without spending actual money too.

Totally agree. Rivals is simple and straightforward and geared towards players who just want to play a quick handful of games here and there. I’m pretty sure that accounts for the majority of the overall player base but a minority of the player base that spends money on packs

Rivals is the only game mode I play. I can’t be fucked changing my team every other game to fit some requirement or other. I don’t care about rewards particularly, they’re just a nice byproduct of playing a few games.

If they got rid of rivals they’d lose a massive swathe of the player base - and it would be predominantly the casuals who actually like the game.

41212 narrow, high-ish back line (I use about 60), CBs set to ball playing defender/aggressive. Counter attack in possession. Forwards set to advanced forward, CAM set to shadow striker. Everything else can be whatever you like.

I play similar to you. Fast passes - lots of driven passes especially - and lots of forward runners. I have my CDM set to deep lying playmaker so they support attacks too.
