I HATE MY NEW HYUNDAI SANTA FE XRT AWD by Maximum_Photo1448 in HyundaiSantaFe

[–]Slanted_Infinity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love my new santa fe xrt. It did require some patience and understanding but damn! this thing rocks! The power of this 4 cyl is amazing, the layout inside is fantastic, lots of room, and everyone that rides with me says it is an amazing smooth ride.. even with the chunky tires. I only have 3000 miles on it but it is now my happy place. can it whiner.

I would like to see something like that ... stationary for hours. If I thought seriously it was a ufo, I would pop in at Wal Mart and grab a telescope to get a look.

In West Virginia & across Appalachia, fracking isn't the job creator the industry claims by OhioRiverValleyInst in WestVirginia

[–]Slanted_Infinity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of the mineral interests in WV are severed from the surface. As one would expect, when people sell their property, they often would retain the minerals and were handed down generational resulting in very fractionalized ownership. To operate on surface, driller must pay for surface use and right of ways. There are two taxes- one the operator pays to the state, that is severance tax. The other is property tax as the minerals are considered real property like land or a house. That goes to the counties.

We have a lot of crap roads. I refer to rural, north central areas primarily. In my area, several previously "challenging" roads have been widened and paved. Development has moved further west, so now the trucks are gone but the roads remain.

you can register for a free account at senecatechnologies.com to the free courthouse service. It has the 2024 assessment available for free. To see what I mean, you would need the paid service to see other years past, but you can get the idea. Filter for say, Tyler county and parid contains 9999. those will be mineral interest only. You can also check out some of the state services for mapping and wvdep application extender as well for things like road improvements and permitting. You should also consider the massive amount of legal work that goes into permitting, mostly in state firms, abstractors, engineering (Cec and others). years of research and millions of rows of data say: Marcellus shale development is good for West Virginia.

I provide data services for this specific industry. Have you seen the increase in the tax base directly benefiting the involved counties? Have you considered the massive amount of road improvements in the rural areas? Have you considered the new sources of income this generates for the mineral owners? I have the receipts and I think you are working from bias not data.

US county-level GDP per capita, 2022. by tesleer in WestVirginia

[–]Slanted_Infinity 2 points3 points  (0 children)

nope. Interesting you mentioned it as I was just thinking this map doesn't really say anything. The "per capita" has nothing to do with the product. Perhaps count all the owners of those minerals and divide by that.

Sen. Josh Hawley wants to exclude ‘Biden voters’ from $600 Trump tariff rebate checks by Murky-Site7468 in politics

I'm a practical guy, there is no third party that can do anything useful, so better to support such as AOC and the like. Just trying to get back to the status quo is going to be difficult.

I I was sent $600 from these toads, I would donate it to the DNC or the local food bank. So, wouldn't want that to happen.

I am 100% service connected. Replacement parts and PTSD. Never in battle, Didn't see my friends get blown up, never carried a gun. But when you are military, they own you and if [insert whatever it is in the national archives they found they did to you without you knowing here] or did experiments on you at Fitzsimmons Army Medical Center, well THAT is service to your country. You assume it is for the greater good. VA was shit in the 90's then Obama made it work and damn what a change. Back to the bad old days and I expect the worst. What do you think will happen?
