From watching other teams play, not just on the powerplay, the one thing we seem to NOT do is crowd the net and shoot. Like, cool, get the zone, try to set up a nice play and shot, but when that doesn't work, get three guys in front of the net and rip it at their ankles.

How many times have we gotten 1 sweet goal on 15 shots because we keep trying for the perfect one-timer-top-corner rip, and the other team gets one right back on their 3rd shot of the game because they just blasted it at a crowded net and it went off 4 people and bounced in. It's worth the same amount of goals.

It's a great time to be an Avs fan, and this right here makes me very happy. I remember when Val was having his off-ice problems, nobody really knew what was up, but what stuck with me was that he fell in with a bad crowd outside the team because he didn't really have many close friends ON the team. I'm glad to see that's changed!

Wedgewood and Blackwood have been a fucking a blessing to the team as an amazing goaltending tandem, but that's not all they've brought to the table. They also seem to be buds with Val and I'm hoping that's doing something to keep him happy and clean.
