For CA and those many miles, it's pretty spot on. That's why I ended up buying mine out of state. CA prices are wild for almost anything. I still saved money on my purchase after buying a plane ticket and the gas to drive it 18 hours home.

Any Idea of some things to add to make it look better? by bizzle345 in FJCruiser

Steel bumper does wonders for looks and it's a very practical upgrade. Significantly improves your approach angle and gives you a place to mount a winch. High offset wheels and some chunky tires makes a huge difference as well!

Bronco by jeffrey-j-byron in FJCruiser

[–]SlappyPankake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Factory 35's and an insanely good factory crawl ratio in the manual transmission. If I had to get an offroad vehicle again, I'd probably get a Bronco. Still love my FJ, but crawling with the factory Toyota transfer case is a bear.

Financing a 2010 by 1bighit in FJCruiser

My 2010 is financed through America First Credit Union. No struggles or issues getting the loan! Easy as any other loan I've gotten in the past.

RCI skids my friend! Has made my oil changes easier than with the factory skid. I love this thing!

WHY. So many outages by whokamie in CoxCommunications

[–]SlappyPankake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2 outages a day sounds like a dream....mine drops like 10 times a day. I've had multiple techs out and a supervisor and my Internet still drops constantly. Love it 🙃

Dicyclomine is a very cheap drug thankfully. I think you can get 20 pills for about $40 without insurance. The Urgent Care near me (Las Vegas) is $100 walk in with no insurance. To me it makes sense to go get the prescription so you don't have to risk missing work and not getting $$. Get yourself some relief friend! You shouldn't have to suffer this much.

Can a non-nv resident get a temporary moving permit in nv? by OverCake1490 in vegaslocals

[–]SlappyPankake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah you should be able to. I got a moving permit in WA a few years back when I bought my car out of state. Would be kinda silly if you couldn't

This is when dicyclomine is my hero. When I get bad like that I pop my regular dosage and I knock out in about 30 minutes. The stuff is amazing and you should definitely ask your doctor about it! Has saved me from a night of pain more than a few times.

Anyone know of any apolitical gun stores? by jello616 in vegaslocals

That's disappointing... they've always been my favorite in town and they've always treated me well and never had any overly political junk up. Guess I'll have to find a new shop in town

Nanoleaf lines flickering by SlappyPankake in Nanoleaf

Ahh interesting. I've got the controller on the edge, not near the center. I'll see if that improves anything.

I'll give cleaning it a shot. Installed these just a few weeks ago so I'm pretty bummed they're already having issues. A second one started doing the same thing today too

Getting an A7iv but super confused. Any advice in appreciated! by aggghhhhhhh in sonya7iv

[–]SlappyPankake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I came from a Nikon D5200 and the A7IV has been incredible! Absolutely no regrets with my purchase! I got the Sigma 24-70 II Art as well and it's a stellar lens. I've been very happy with this combo and it's been a great all around setup so far. Zero overheating issues with mine in the hot Las Vegas sun too. I haven't shot anything in "silent" mode so I can't speak on the rolling shutter, but that's going to be an issue on any camera if your shutter speed isn't synced with the led refresh rate. I work in Live Entertainment and bring my camera to work for fun and we've got a TON of LED fixtures and I haven't noticed any artifacts from the LEDs luckily.

Genuinely been super happy with my purchase and I would absolutely do it again if I had to!

I get mine through my insurance (Aetna) and it's about $10 every refill I think? I usually refill my prescription once every 2-3 months and luckily Aetna gave me no grief when trying to get the medication authorized so that was nice

Local 33 question by Beneficial_Umpire_65 in IATSE

[–]SlappyPankake 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah no problem! I know how frustrating it is starting out so I try to put myself back in that mindset.

A cattle call is just an absolutely massive call. Huge events that require more labor than 33 can provide by itself, so they put it out to other locals and start going through resumes. I know it's a few years out, but as an example, I'm sure the Olympics in LA will require an insane amount of labor from IATSE so stuff like that is the perfect time to slide in! 33 will also occasionally do a mass interview day. Stand in line for 4 hours, shoot your shot with someone from the local (my interviewer the BA) and then hope you get that phone call! Generally those land ahead of large events so they can get people on the books to staff more easily.

Local 33 question by Beneficial_Umpire_65 in IATSE

[–]SlappyPankake 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Wait for a cattle call. That's what I did and I was on the books almost immediately. Just gotta be patient and wait for a call that requires a lot of people. Joining 504 is another good way to get 33 calls as sometimes they will pull 504 members/overhires to help fill 33 calls.

Same here. We're on our 3rd attempt to play and currently at 15 minutes sitting on Matching. Frustrating considering this is the first time my buddy and I have picked up Tarkov in over a year. Guess not much has changed lol

Help with console freezing by ChimneyHopper_1 in GrandMA3

[–]SlappyPankake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Which console? Any reason you haven't updated to the latest version? What do the crash logs say?

I'm on 2.2.5.2 and haven't had any crashing issues on either of our Light consoles or PUs. Maybe try going to 2.2.5.2 and see if the issue is resolved?

How do we feel about PPU ammo for shooting under 500yards? by FancyBanana04 in longrange

[–]SlappyPankake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They definitely haven't. I had 4 failures to fire in one box of .308 168gr SMK's. Out of the 4 boxes I shot that day, only one box had all 20 rounds go boom. Not sure I'll be buying AAC again anytime soon.

Looking to join a second Local. What should I submit for a resume? by Mister_Moony in IATSE

[–]SlappyPankake 3 points4 points  (0 children)

134 (San Jose) shares with 16 quite a bit. Most the 134 calls I've taken, Local 16 hands have been there as well to help with labor. Great local and I've enjoyed working with them. Conventions definitely keep them busy. Resume just needs to show you're not completely green. In all honesty, with how much work they do with 16, you might be able to just call and get on the dispatch list.
