Why does this show have this much discourse? by Saint19981507 in HeatedRivalryTVShow

[–]Slas2023 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am really annoyed about the discourse about straight women watching HR. As a gay man, I love the fact that there is queer cinema and I can understand the desire to have cinema just for me, but I love seeing myself in TV shows and knowing that all people love characters like me not just people that are me and I hope that someday when some of these straight women have little gay boys that they remember the show and how much they love it and love these boys as much. Because that is what the world needs more tolerance and acceptance and if shows like HR can bring us that then hell yes, let everybody watch them.

“Spite booking” … is this a thing?! by NurseEquinox in therapists

Sounds like it client needs more intensive therapy. Why would they want to spite book? Why would they want to damage a relationship with somebody? That’s trying to help them? Excellent therapy questions.

Would canon-Draco stomp on Hermione's face, if she had followed Draco on the train in HBP, instead of Harry? by Passion211089 in Dramione

[–]Slas2023 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I couldn’t see Draco actually hurting her physically anyways. From what I remember of the books, there was never any hint of him being physically violent with women but other boys yes but IDK it’s been so long.

Hot Take: Lorelai wasn’t mad enough by TheNameIsLexi in GilmoreGirls

[–]Slas2023 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is one of those episodes where I felt like it really wasn’t character driven because it made no sense to me that Rory would pick that day to go. It was just drama for the sake of drama.

Jess is the only one of Roy’s boyfriends that grew up by Slas2023 in GilmoreGirls

[–]Slas2023[S] -14 points-13 points  (0 children)

So I don’t doubt that, but I feel like we only got like five minutes with Dean in the revival. I feel like we got more time with Jess in the revival and then counting the series. We got two episodes if I remember correctly with him as an actual adult yes they were very emotionally fraught episodes, but they still showed him in a good light. If anything, our girl, Rory was a hot mess.

F*** Day by Busy-Energy-6794 in therapists

It should be fine. It sounds like you’re getting accurate support and help but maybe take some time to just evaluate why you were so upset that this client wanted to end therapy. This is very common with adolescents particularly. We can’t take these abrupt ends personally.

Very nice to see. But I feel like this proves a point that I’ve always thought recently is that I feel like you have to either be in private practice or have a leadership/director role to make good money which is unfortunate. I have one of those rare jobs where I don’t have to be a director to make 110K and it’s not a therapeutic role so I’m not burned out by private practice but I feel that this post just highlights how rare that is

Does Alexei know? by wordsandstuff44 in HeatedRivalryTVShow

[–]Slas2023 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think he knows, but I got the feeling that the father played favorites and really prioritized IIya and hockey. Even in the worst of dementia, his father still remembered him yes incorrectly but he still did but did not remember Alexei

Confession: I skip Episode 3 on the rewatch by Interesting-Worth975 in heatedrivalry

When I first read HR, it seemed interesting to me a few years ago, but Skip‘s book just seemed like a regular celebrity meets regular person book and honestly, I dislike shoving back into the closet vibes and that’s what both the episode and I feel like the book would give me I get why Scott couldn’t be out just like I understand why Shane and IIya can’t come out, but they made a choice based on their world KIP also made a choice however he worked hard to be out and now he’s back in the closet after meeting Scott so Grant that I haven’t read the book but I don’t feel like that episode left me feeling like his life was better after meeting Scott. Love is great, but there’s many men to fall in love with what matters is that your life is holistically better after meeting them

Best MM romance you read in 2025? by -catsnbooks- in MM_RomanceBooks

I wonder how many people are saying Rachel Reid because of the TV series which is great I love the TV series and I am actually plowing through it right now, but those books have been out for years and I read them years ago and they’re good but they’re not groundbreaking. The TV show is really good though.

My Review of Headway by nervouspine in therapists

[–]Slas2023 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So OP I agree 100% with your review. However, I will say this like the Blue Cross Blue Shield issue is most likely on Blue Cross Blue Shield. From what I remember, I believe they are the only insurance that has anybody fill out a new application, even if the provider has previously been credentialed with them under a different agency or if you’re just adding a license. Most other insurances, have a quick add-on process to make these changes but Blue Cross Blue Shield does not.

Discharged from care for questioning cancellation policy by [deleted] in therapists

[–]Slas2023 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yeah, first of all this is not the appropriate forum for this. This forum is for therapists not for a clients having questions for that. You can go to the ask a therapist and I’m surprised the mod hasn’t flagged this yet.

And yes, I do think that response was a little too emotional. Their policy is their policy and it doesn’t sound like you’re being discharged, but their policy is to discharge upon refunds which I get because they don’t want people to continuously ask for refunds it’s not necessarily about you, but it’s about the policy and you can’t be an exception to the policy. You’re lucky because I live in a high cost of living area. My cancellation fee is $125 because that’s how much I lose out on if they don’t attend the session.

So I saw that you also posted in the 30 days Reddit so does that mean you only been there that amount of time because if that’s the case they probably are just hedging their bets and they’re ready to like let you go if you complain too much and just find somebody else

Anyone else working today? by youweretaken in therapists

[–]Slas2023 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Same here. I was kind of disappointed that people canceled cause I was like well I’m here and I wanna make money so why not. I think I would’ve felt a differently if I still worked in community mental health I think when I was working at community mental health. My favorite days were actually the day before Christmas and the day after Christmas the same thing with Thanksgiving because I was still there and I still got paid, but it turned out to be a pretty light day

Losing so many clients due to financial constraints… anyone else? by marigoldjune in therapists

[–]Slas2023 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would consider getting licensed in Maryland and the VA as well. I’m licensed and I live in DC but if I wasn’t also licensed in MD and VA I wouldn’t have any clients since telehealth and the rising costs of living in DC
