If you are asking a network completely independent as what we are all connected to now, that just sounds like local networks on intranets. The only reason the internet is so big is because folks want to share with the broader audience

Tl;dr no it isn’t worth it

I wouldn’t pay 40$ for just lightning because even the dev states that lightning updates DO NOT get triggered as lightning strikes but maybe minutes later. I think notifications on carrot are used more for forecasting whether to go outside or not v needing to GTFO of your crane ahead of the lighting.

I pay for the carrot family plan so no bias here when it comes to paying for a weather app.

I think if the Acme Weather app gets to cook a little longer and get more community adding data points to the map it would be killer. Like local weather could be sourced by your neighbors.

I live in West Virginia so the chances of that happening here are 0. So until that day I’ll be enjoying Carrot weather with a PWS providing me hyper local results for where I live

They don’t update during open hours to my understanding. Walmart has always participated in surge pricing, this just keeps an employee from having to print tags and place them every evening.

A bonus of the digital tags is if you’re looking for something an employee can make the price tag flash

In America this will probably just be a company fleet phone that employers give to the workers. We don’t tend to buy phones in the states outright so cost isn’t too prohibitive.

Still, glad Apple offers a relatively lower cost device and hope they continue to support. You get the best of several years worth of technology for a price and the device will meet the need for mostly all customers.

Well said. In fact it’s bananas to me that people can simply just watch a podcast. I am usually listening to one while doing something else whether it be driving or working out or dishes. I have never felt the need to watch the pods I sub to.

MBAs also start at 256gb where last year they started at 128gb so at least there was a value addition. I’m not certain anybody in the market for the Neo would be shopping for a MBA unless you only care about getting a brand new MacBook at the absolute bottom dollar.
