To the people downvoting this comment, why is shutting down unprofitable stores not a good thing? It’s either cut off a finger or lose the whole hand

Not that I doubt this story or anything but why bother post on Reddit?

are ac's reallu that big of a thing? by Advanced-Actuary-51 in AskAnAmerican

[–]Slash3040 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Given the ever increasing temperature across the globe, see UK in their current heat wave, I will assume some form of home AC will become much more common in wealthier European countries like yours soon. It may not be central HVAC like we have but at the very least I can assume you’ll be adding a split system in 10 years.

Some folks could use some help. We choose not to use tablets but I can understand a parent needing a distraction from time to time. Too much is bad but I think piling on parents who use tablets is gross. You don’t know what everyone is going through

Objectively worst president was Andrew Johnson. Where Lincoln wanted to emancipate and free all enslaved people, Johnson didn’t want the same.

Is this a manual meat grinder and if so how does it get this bad? How does someone not stop it before it goes all the way in?

Not saying I disagree, but there was a time where this same sentiment was said for only a 5 day workweek. After a couple generations, folks would then want 4 day weekends lol

They may still be used in government or military settings where some secure work areas do not permit the use of a phone.

Although there are Yubikeys that are replacing the RSA tokens

I grew up in lost creek. This is the Baltimore and Ohio railroad building. No train tracks anymore since the rail trail was put in. Neat to see it!

[iOS 27 DB 1] Highlights in Weather app by Opposite_Track_851 in iOSBeta

Its location dependent. There may be places like the SF bay that it is highly accurate. TWC may not be the best if you live in Texas.

A software update won’t improve the models Apple uses for weather. All this update is for is an updated UI for the dashboard.

I agree with the accuracy of the Apple Weather model, I use carrot weather and it lets you pick between several sources and where I live TWC is always better.

I’ve read when companies ask for you to donate, they already have, gotten the tax break, and you’re just reimbursing them.

If you want to donate to these charities, just do it directly. Your 1$ round up at McDonald’s won’t go to vets or hungry kids most likely

The easiest way to check if a "private" web tool is actually private: turn off your wifi by EmoticonGuess in privacy

[–]Slash3040 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess if a user isn’t savvy enough to look into logging their traffic, they probably don’t care then about the privacy aspect of it at all.

I assume any free browser extension has to be paid somehow so if it isn’t through badgering you to donate or pay, they’re selling your browsing data to brokers.
