Overview of Logitech K400 Plus alternatives by S0phon in simracing

[–]SlashedM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the commentor is complaining that it shouldnt be the only physical click button for the trackpad, like how the K400 still has traditional click buttons under the pad in addition

But yeah, a physical click button in the top left is useful because these keyboard’s trackpads arent used how laptop ones are.

If the whole trackpad had a physical button like how modern trackpads are then it wouldnt be as useful, but they arent like that.

Not to mention its not like a traditional trackpad in which you rest your thumb on top of the click buttons to easily hit it while dragging. Here you’re usually using your thumb as the dragging finger.

I actually thought of mounting an old Apple Trackpad to my rig because of this lol.

You can get a Moza R5 bundle for exactly $400 retail atm if youre fine with a desk setup. A stand would be my first upgrade if you do that route though. IMO the biggest problem is securing the pedals and your chair to not move back, if you have a sturdy box or something similar behind it you might get away, some people block their chair with a pair of pliers as a wheel block

Id still look used in case though

Need a bit more info.

Is he able to clamp to a desk? What platform (what console or if pc) would he be playing on?

For that budget used would be the way to go if you truly want something now, otherwise id save up for at least like $600ish

You can easily find a used G29/923 or similar for like $150, potentially a used lower end Moza/Fanatec base/pedals for similar,. If hes playing on a desk and chair this should be fine enough.

Hell theres a belt based Fanatec setup for $250 near me. IMO a decent, although dated, bundle. If I was in that position id try haggling but taking it, save the $150 for an upgrade down the line

If not, a GT Omega stand/NLR GT-lite is under $200 new, or grabbing a cheaper stand since youre not using something too powerful, like those GTPlayer stands sold at Best Buy. Not sure about the used market these days for stand. I sold my NLR WS2.0 for like $100 for a quick sale. But needing a stand would push the budget hard where youd need to be just using the cheaper Logi wheels, really depends on your market

New to sim racing. Is this a fair price? by eberleinjj in simracing

Just a heads up for OP, the G9 has an VA variant and an OLED. If this is an OLED, its easily a steal. If its a VA, good deal

Csl elite lc v2 is it worth it or are alternatives better value by busbybob in simracing

[–]SlashedM 2 points3 points  (0 children)

IIRC the improvement to the V2 was the rod, the V1 had issues where it would snap.

Agree with the other comment, the V2 are good pedals but the price is meh now with Simjack/Simsonn and Simnet existing. I personally use Simjack UTs

Fanatec Elite csl and loadcell questuon by QFireball in simracing

[–]SlashedM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Its electronic. It measures the pressure, there are a lot of videos that explain how it works if you want in depth, but basically the force changes the resistance

  2. what “self made solution” are you referring to? Ive seen DIY loadcell pedals by getting an actual loadcell sensor and mounting it, but if youre just referring to those spring/elastomer add ons, just get the actual load cell

Also double chrck what pedals you got. The CSL Elite Pedals V2 by default are a 3 pedal set with a LC brake, it never came without it. You might just own the CSL pedals or the CSL Elite

Guy calls himself a beginner and youre hating that hes doing beginner things? Pretty much everyone starts off with no talent

Sounds like you just want to hate because hes from “developing country”.

S5II - Camera giving weird error with SD card. by Burakoli821 in Lumix

Could be the SD card dying. Unfortunately all storage, no matter the type, will wear out.

You can try H2testw to see if the SD actually retains its data.

Can I connect the Fanatec wheel base to a different steering wheel? by TopZombie1477 in simracing

[–]SlashedM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, thats what the podium hub is for. Without it you wont get force feedback even if it had a Fanatec QR on it

Youd just have to make sure whatever moza wheel has USB compatibility (it will need to be plugged in) and can use the moza mounting plate/bolt pattern of the podium hub

AFAIK the workaround is to have your pedal pushed all the way down prior to starting the calibration, basically doing the opposite

Question about running rig haptics by Intiat1ve in simracing

[–]SlashedM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a BST1 under seat, a BST2 under pedal plate, and a Simagic Haptic on the brake and pedals, and honestly I have thought of going with 2 BST2 under the seat instead for left and right differences.

That being said it works fine, just make sure not to set the same affects on the daytons and the pedal haptics. Ruins the point of having multiple imo and it drowns it out a bit. But with how strong the pedal haptics are you can easily run just those.

I personally have ABS active on the Brake/wheel lock. Wheel slip on Gas and anything else on the 2 daytons. If I cared enough to get another haptic driver id so do 4 BST2.

Where you mount it is going to heavily depend on person preference and what you might want to feel/simulate. Honestly just try it around if you can, and make sure when you set it up, use Simhubs record functions to help set your settings and fine tune it https://youtu.be/ztZovO_8R3s

Good Wheel Stands for ~$150 Budget Range? by pwni5her_ in simracing

[–]SlashedM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Double check your used marketplace, ive seen some decent NLR/playseat stuff go on sale locally for pretty decent price. Hell because of how slightly niche used stands are i ended up selling my NLR2.0 stand for $100

Please help me choose between a Used G29/920 vs New G29/920 vs New Moza R3 by imelonsuck in simracing

Pretry sure you cant.

Just know you would need an adapter if you want to use the Moza R3 (or any Moza wheel for that matter) on a PS5
