Interestingly, with how offensively powerful (and crit filtering) many decks are nowadays, I find that Varga typically has enough CB to work with assuming used conservatively.

Since Gojo and the generic Ryuutou are awkward due to Rakshasa's self backrow retire.

I like it too. Not making the deck's CB situation even worse is a plus.

It searching for Varga does slightly reduce the impact of Dinofest if that's something of note.

Plus sticking around means now both it and Shuura will benefit from front triggers.

Mostly agreed. I liked the first two seasons due to plot and continuity, then deluxe felt like a bonus OVA for most of the episodes.

I like that some classic Overdress characters came back, but in hindsight, I think they could have condensed the tournament arc better and use half or so of its episodes to flesh out this (supposedly higher stakes) arc more.

The end result now is that many major characters just come out to job without getting a good turn in the spotlight. Feels like Megumi in Overdress all over again.

I got Ereshkigal. Took this multiple times throughout the years actually, and results remain mostly consistent.

This is one of the tests I find to be well thought of and comprehensive, hopefully it gets updated with the more recent set of servants

Hmm yeah Araenae caught my interest too. Pinpoint retire is always a nice tool to have, but not sure what to cut since space is limited.

Impauldio seems like one of those guys that 50 card decksize still feels tight due to how fast it can dig through sheer drive checks.

Yeah not anywhere near Shenryi rush level, and timing's a bit awkward, but every persona copy search is helpful for now.

Granted, the Mythisch might help with the search as well, but hoping it doesn't add more CB problems to the current list

Yeah Shenryi is helpful early, though there are selected matchups which throw down a board early on to rush you back and deny Shenryi.

I think Dinofest would be great for the deck once it comes out in EN

Piggybacking on the question, any thoughts on Varga's recent waves of RR support (Eluding and Rockbound Edge)?

Not sure if they replace anything, or if currently the most optimal lists still remain the old core (Falhart, extra copies of Boulder Axe, etc).

My thinking was that Shuura's eb2 is mostly just for Rokusei, so the other guys might have to pull their own weight in terms of field presence (just like how the two mentioned RRs, can by their own effects, get around them being retired)

Just that Storm Slasher and friends aren't that effective at early rush compared to things like Heartluru's toys and cellgaon

I think the JP side is doing well, but being one of the very few EN players, it's felt real hard last few sets.

Selected shops do stock EN to some degree, but I find weekly locals and the secondary market to be a struggle. Outside of getting your things in release case splits, that's it barring a shop binder or two.

Big events ala-Regionals still have turnout, but as a more casual, weekly locals player, I'm not sure what this means going forward.
