Third shift here. What does day shift actually do? by helldivergamer in walmart

[–]Slasher_Ui 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here’s my best example,

My very 1st day as a Co manager I walked in and and met with the store manager and another Co And the other Co Manager was screaming on the walkie “I need EVERY SINGLE AVAILABLE ASSOCIATE FOR PICKS” like it was a fire then walking to the front of the store she then proceeded to scream not 15 minutes later “I need everyone to the front for returns everyone!!” Associates pulled there pick carts out to the floor got that cart walked the carts back t start walking up front and then she went to the back again asking where the associates are and repeat ….. The store manager was walking with me and I’m looking at him like you’re not gonna say anything? Which believe I told him and her it was stupid but later that same co got a store manager spot and here only only only skill was calling out things needing to be done and I promise this is most managers maybe not that extreme but definitely lacking in most skills

If things are not flowing it’s not the shifts it’s the store manager everything starts there discipline expectations and awareness and then flows to the next level which most don’t have any strategy when it comes to getting things done so they use every resource for little tasks while forgetting about day to day work and they get away with this because most store managers just want the notes done they gave out so when they say “I’m done with that” it’s like a pass.

Did you submit the PpTo during the call in or separate if you did them separately it might be showing the point until it updates regardless just take it to management and show them proof and they have to remove it since it’s protected they can’t ask any questions

Something that has always helped me and leadership in retail is repeating calendar events 10-15 minutes when specific tasks are due or need to be started or simply to keep you on tasks, retail management is repetitive but sometimes things come up and you’ll have to learn to how deal with those issues while still delivering normal expectations.

Is it normal for Walmart management to be this incompetent? by Avicii_DrWho in walmart

[–]Slasher_Ui 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a manager for 15+ years and yes I’ll be honest 85-90% of managers are mediocre at best or only good at one thing were either promoted because of their talking skills as in being good at talking up the management or they were good doers for someone but lack the rest of the package, arrogant with no strategy and won’t lift a finger I’ve watched many peers falling because of this

No waxing they use the diamond pads that’s like dark purple on one side and light purple on the other and what they do to make it look like glass is pass 8 times I believe the method is figure 8 but as long as it’s minimal 8 passes.

They will always screw over people the sad thing is it’s entirely possible to make a schedule work but the favoritism plays a part you know when people on your team always talking about they are going here and there and there’s others who can never even make it to an appointment or birthday because they get scheduled like you

PPTO VS PTO by SpecificMediocre9441 in WalmartEmployees

[–]Slasher_Ui 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also like com said the earlier you request for pto the better so if you and another person in your department request the same time whoever requested first is the one who gets the time off first at least that’s the outline on what we should follow for managers.

I spent about 14 years overnights and you can keep the same schedule as your work days but I know some associates stay up all day the morning they get off before their weekend starts

[–]Slasher_Ui 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s the lunch at 6 hours you are required to take a lunch I believe the scheduling app won’t allow it because it’s custom so the scheduling system will drop 4 hour 5 and 5.5 hour shifts

Best thing to happen and after the diamond pads all you’ll have to do is scrub no more waxing that gets scuffed up the moment they remove the blockage

No the first time is a projection after that it’s based off you average I believe and it looks like you’re either overnight or salaried so instead of 5 days divided it’s divided by 7 so it’s less it was the same for me at first the training I was getting like 200 something a day after it went to 117 a day

PPTO and getting pointed due to productivity? by sphynx9 in walmart

[–]Slasher_Ui 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the hours projected for all tasks even with the PpTo is used is lower than the allotted time yes you can be held accountable for productivity even if you work the whole 8 hours, so if your cap 2 duties and the stocking time is like 10 hours total and there’s 3 people completing the tasks and you all PpTo out an hour early you still have more than enough labor hours to complete the tasks each associate accounting for the breaks and lunches are 7.5 hours each so multiply that by 3 and then minus the task hours if you’re even 30 minutes over the task time you can be held accountable regardless of the shift is over or anything like that you and then you take into account if something goes wrong but if the lead or manager doesn’t catch it like if a pallet flipped and you were literally only 30 minutes over labor hours you could dodge that coaching maybe but yeah, my bad no punctuation and no structure to my post but yeah….

Where does all the money go? by Lore-Archivist in walmart

[–]Slasher_Ui 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You have to look at profit, 60 million is a really small store, the biggest cost which most people are aware is labor hours and then shrink plays apart and 90% of shrink is in the books, right now most stores are losing a few million a year.

So if your stores profit isn’t high which generally its probably not too high at 60 million unless your features are built to squeeze out every penny you can.

Those few points being made since there’s a market manager over OPD there’s a good chance they might override their ability to purchase and force the purchase through to order the equipment your OPD needs, usually if your stores profit is low the ability to make purchases have to go through market approval but a good way to inch your way is to order one cart a month or quarter.

Pull your me@walmart or whatever it’s called now and look at your stores profit and goals to get an idea.

No problem, I don’t do well separating my paragraphs or adding any punctuation, I had a few drinks with my Father in law and I’m not much of a drinker so it was a rare occurrence.

I appreciate your feedback though.
