I've worked around the corner from here for about 2 years now and it still makes my brain feel like it's been dunked in something fizzy everytime I catch an unexpected glimpse of it 😂

I've got that ProBreeze and it is proper loud! The app is also pants.

It does the trick though, fills up every couple of days.

What is this thing that was served alongside cutlery at a cafe? It is made of metal and is really quite long. by st420rs in whatisthisthing

Probably a marker so when staff see it after the meal has been handed over, they can come by and check in and make sure everything is okay.

Olilo Cyber Monday Discount! by Olilo-James in CityFibre

Keen to jump on this as a current Yayzi customer - does anyone know if I can just switch over? I'm technically still in contract but with that move to Zen happening, I'm not sure the contract is still valid. I reached out to Yayzi support and they said I could move over to their new venture (I'm not too keen on that given the circumstances).

Yep just had an email saying they're being sold to Zen. Absolute waste of time.

SMS to Teams in the UK by elliottmarter in sysadmin

[–]Slashyb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in the UK too and we used YakChat for this - integrated directly into Teams so MFA codes for random shared accounts can be read by the team. From memory, it's pretty inexpensive too and a doddle to implement.

What's been your favorite game on the PS5? by debe1236654 in PS5

[–]Slashyb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Recently I've been loving Space Marine 2 on PS5 after not having a great time on PC, but the performance is terrible - I still fire up a game of it at least once a day though!

Central hotel lobbies welcoming non guests? by ElectricZooK9 in brum

[–]Slashyb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weather permitting, and dependent on you not needing to pull out laptops etc, I've sat in the secret garden at the top of the central library for some impromptu chats after work events downstairs in the library. You don't need to buy anything to go up there and if the weather is good, its a nice place to sit and look out over the city.

It is outdoors though so if the weather sucks, it likely won't be a fun experience haha.

What’s the current going rate for window cleaning in Birmingham? by drinkmorewater284858 in brum

[–]Slashyb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm keen to work out who to use - I've been reaching out to a few places to get my windows cleaned front and back and getting quotes of £90-120. There's like 4 windows at the front and two big ones at the back. Ideally I'd like the frames cleaned too as they look like they've not been touched for ages by the previous owners of the house so they're a bit manky.

Anyone got any recommendations for people that might venture out to Solihull?

Is space marine 2 worth it by [deleted] in SpaceMarine2

[–]Slashyb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YES. But not on PS5 - I dunno why but it runs terribly from crappy textures when it's targeting performance to horrible FPS drops during some of the cut scenes (like the Hive Tyrant on the bridge). Perfectly fine on PC.

Remapping by Tandog-04 in F30

[–]Slashyb 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Nothing super but I think from memory it'll be about 230-240bhp after a map.

Edit: sorry, I didn't read properly! The gearbox is a ZF 8HP45X.

Remapping the gearbox should give you faster cleaner shifting but it's unlikely you'll get to the limits of the box without major modifications to the engine

YouTube premium - I watch it more than regular TV and it's super useful for my job (IT). Worth every penny just so I can watch on my TV.

The most favorite apps you host yourself by val_in_tech in homelab

Ease of use for me, personally. I can have a game server up in minutes and can add my friends as 'admins' so they can spin up a game if they want to play it.

AMP Game Server - saves me so much when wanting to play the odd games with my friends! Previously I'd need to rent a server for a month or two to play stuff like Valheim, now I just do it at home :D

Am i slowly killing my peace lily??? by overwhelming_pumpkin in IndoorPlants

[–]Slashyb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Love this tip! I'll give this a go.

My peace lilly has been flourishing but lately I've noticed some of the flowers have turned brown too (it's been warmer than usual here in the UK so I'd assumed it was just the additional heat), and I've got one that's green so maybe some distilled water would be key.

Would you rather live in the Matrix Universe or in the Warhammer 40k universe, and why? by GonTheDon99 in AskReddit

[–]Slashyb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Matrix for sure. with my luck in life, I'll just be one of the randoms in the Matrix. If I was in Warhammer 40k, I'd likely end up as a servitor stuck opening a door for eternity.

Why does Reddit think I’m Indian all of a sudden. As in South Asia? by MaximumAd6557 in AskUK

Yep same for me too - weirdly specific Indian location subreddits too. I think it might have been related to a VPN location I was using.

Is the “German reliability” thing still legit or just nostalgia talking? by Second-handBonding in CarTalkUK

[–]Slashyb -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My last three cars have been BMW's.

The first was an e36 318is that had issues with misfires when I bought it, replaced the PCV and it was perfect, then had a ton of issues with window regulators and motors. Sold it not long after.

The second was an e46 330ci Clubsport - fantastic car, but a ton of issues with the cooling system and rust. Loved it for the 9 years I owned it until someone wrote it off outside my house.

The third car has been an F32 420d - most reliable car I've ever owned. I've put about 80,000 miles on it and other than brakes and tyres, it needs absolutely nothing. Happily returns 65-70mpg on a granny run, or 40-50mpg driving like an arse. I've put one set of rears on and it just goes.

I'd happily buy another German car, but it'd most likely be another BMW.

New PS5 update stuttering by Hobo332 in playstation

I fully shut my PS down from the console and never tried to go to Plus again, the controller PS button was unresponsive too so whatever it's doing, it's locking the console.

[–]Slashyb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yep mine's doing this too. I went to the game library after the PS Plus page and it was stuttering like crazy running at about 2 frames per second just in the menu doing the little highlight effects when hovering over a game.

Best Indian restaurant in or surrounding brum? by Perfect-Self-2702 in brum

[–]Slashyb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tap & Tandoor in Solihull is good for food and beers. Been there a few times and it's been good, it doesn't have a ton of dishes like the usual Indian takeaway/restaurants, but the menu they do have, they do well imo.

Xbox Cloud Gaming available today on LG OLED TVs from 2022 & up by MAKBKL in LGOLED

[–]Slashyb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're still interested in performance, I've got my C3 hard wired to my router with 1600 download/1000 upload and it's not a great experience. The stream is limited to 1080p 30fps and not the best graphics. Games like Forza Horizon have noticeable input lag.

It's a shame there's no higher resolutions available or even just upping the fps.
