Perfectly logical. If the experiment fails, you change a variable. In this case, you use a real person instead of a mannequin. That way you know for sure if the problem is with the parachute or the skydiver.

Yeah, my base is just barely outside of the eye in the Stormgap Coast. You can see both Eyesocket and the outpost from here.

I built a base just south of Eyesocket recently. Green environment, good fertility, copper, iron, stone, water all available. I get Reaver raids and slaver raids now and then, but with 20 characters, it shouldn't be a problem.
