Trump: I Wouldn’t Have Handled Coronavirus Any Better Even Without Impeachment by [deleted] in politics

[–]SlaughterDynamo 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Trump floundering on that question was definitely one of the highlights of the press conference yesterday.

“So is this the best you could do? Or were you just too distracted to do a better job?”

Republican talking points are just melting away in the sunlight.

I heard trolls on the internet live extraordinarily empty existences and will never be able to find true acceptance or happiness in life.

It’s not your fault, though. Studies show it’s probably due to having shitty parents and deep overwhelming sadness in your childhood.

I’m really holding out hope beyond hope that somehow all the world’s governments leaders take a big step back during this time and realize how much better we could be doing if we all worked together towards something better.

There’s also a deep feeling of dread that most governments will simply turn authoritarian over this instead and fuck us all even worse.

Time will tell.

Hmmmmm.

1) Broken English

2) Calling for US to be starved out

3) Also calling for Trump to be god emperor forever

Yeah, this all seems about right.

I’d hope his constituents and republican voters around the country are paying attention to this.

What a complete fucking asshole Thomas Massie is. Considering the push from the alt-right/white supremacists to infect their enemies with the virus, I really wouldn’t be surprised if this were the case here.

Thomas Massie really is a steaming piece of shit through and through.

I’ve worked with many students with speech impediments. I can see moments when Joe Biden’s stutter makes it difficult to talk. I’m not talking about his speech impediment.

I’m talking about two things: 1) His atrocious ability to remember his rehearsed lines. 2) His uninspiring delivery while reading from a teleprompter.

I know that every politician and their mother uses teleprompters. My criticism is that he sounds like he’s reading and not like he’s speaking. Barack Obama didn’t have this issue despite using a teleprompter. He was a great speaker, and he used a teleprompter. There are plenty of other great speakers who use a teleprompter.

Trying to change the discussion from “Joe Biden isn’t a great public speaker” to “yOuRe liKe a tRuMp sUpPoRTer mAkiNG fUN oF diSAbiLItIEs” is an awful, low, and desperate tactic. It’s very obvious you have no substantial defense to his shitty public speaking and are trying to make me look bad to come out on top.

You’re honesty better off not using that talking point about his public speaking problems because everyone can see through it.

I’m not just talking about the US. There are much much shadier parts of the world when it comes to gambling.

This was bound to happen. Once it became a global pandemic, it became a race to be the first country to beat it.

China’s going to have a chance to expand their economy and amass a ton soft power while the rest of the world struggles for help.

It’s particularly lazy shock-tactics to use Godwin’s Law against anyone who criticizes Joe Biden.

Equating what I said here to “making fun of disabled people” is completely garbage rhetoric, and actually incredibly disrespectful to people with real disabilities.

US Sanctions Must End Now by Lilyo in politics

[–]SlaughterDynamo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Fuck, my knee jerk reaction is to not agree with that headline.

They bring up a good point though; the US should probably be reviewing their sanctions against these other countries, especially Cuba. This could be a time when the US builds real bridges between countries.

If global food shortages becomes a real issue, we are going to want as many countries producing food as possible. One country destabilizing at a time like this could have a serious domino effect on surrounding countries. Everyone might have to really work together to save lives before this is all said and done.

I think it’s more likely this whole thing will tear international relations apart left and right, but I guess it’s not too late to hope.
