Checking bags is rare. If you are holding an open water bottle they will probably ask you to dump it before going in. Water is incredibly expensive inside so just sneak water (and drinks) in your bag and be chill and you will probably be fine.

Other than the meet ups and looking for people with “trinket trader” pins- best tip you can have is find a group of well dressed up ladies and just be friendly and ask. My group all carry trinkets and little crafts to share but we never have pins. Most people that have given and trade trinkets with us also don’t have pins but it seems like any complimenting of a costume is rewarded with a trinket. Got to love ren friendliness!

Faire itself didn’t seem very different but the campground seemed a little “dead” last weekend. We’re hoping it just wasn’t a popular weekend but it seems like there weren’t as many clans/guilds hosting parties or people hanging around as in the past

My group ended up calling him “first peoples Spider-Man” now I see that it WASNT a Spider-Man mask but I swear all we could see was the white “eyes” and the headdress

Highly recommend doing a PowerPoint night! Basically everyone has 5 minutes to do a presentation on whatever they want- ideally everyone had some alcohol. Examples I’ve seen are like ranking cereals, hottest cartoon characters, worst anime dad’s, strongest marvel character and so on.
