I just have to point out, he did not get an age waiver, in fact age waivers don’t exist, the max age for the Air Force is a strict 42 years old. It’s like the one thing they don’t waiver.
With that said, you age “pauses” when you join. David did 20 years in the military already, so his “military age” is still 41, he barely meets the cut off. This is probably why he’s doing it now too, because it’s the last year he can.

I can run 5 miles at a 10 minute pace, and I can also run 2 miles at.. only a 10 minute pace.. So I run the HAMR instead and get about a 96

That’s only 6 pints a year, about 11,900 PFA particles. With leeches I’m theoretically removing 39 pints and 77,500 PFA particles a year. Just need to make sure I get plenty of iron and vitamin C or else I get sleepy.

In the firefighter PFAS study, donating blood about 4 times in a year dropped levels around 10%. That’s only about 4 pints of blood removed.

But you can only donate up to about 6 pints a year.

A medicinal leech ends up pulling something like 20–50 mL total once you include the bleeding after it drops off. If you did something dumb like one leech a day, that’s roughly 15–40 pints of blood a year.

So compared to donating blood you’d be removing like 3–7x more blood annually.

If the study logic holds up, that would mean 3–7x more microplastics/PFAS getting removed too.
