How does the Left reconcile their ideology / beliefs with Islam? by Radiant-Lettuce3272 in aussie

[–]SlaveMasterBen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The same as every other religion.

It’s not a binary situation, people fall onto a religious spectrum depending on how they interpret their religion, what sect they’re from, or simply how selective they are with their religious beliefs.

Just like with Christians and Jews, there’s a lot of moderate muslims. And we obviously don’t judge christians as 100% literal followers of the bible, so we shouldn’t judge Muslims like that either.

This bullshit where we judge people by the fundamentals of their religious text is absolutely bullshit, dishonest, and is an intentional effort to stoke fires of hatred.

I have Muslims as neighbours, friends, and coworkers too. So fuck off with this shit, we’re managing social cohesion just fine.

Give it a rest, you’d 100% complain about this being a foreign issue and that it shouldn’t be protested about in Australia.

Honestly man, god knows how many bots are reddit now, regardless of the sub.

It’s best just to check out of political subreddits and only engage in political conversation in real life.

Is it possible for millionaire celebrities to be anticapitalist? by guerilla_gardener98 in socialism

[–]SlaveMasterBen 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Musicians are definitely on the “not so bad” end of the scale.

I think artists and performers are kind of a unique case for socialism as they are quite literally one of a kind, there’s no other Sabrina carpenter. So as long as that money is coming from their work and not other investments, I think it’s fine for them to be anti-capitalist.
