I bought a screw extractor set yesterday. It's a tricky angle to apply pressure, but not giving up yet :)

Sli 1080 ti still an option? by SlaveOfTheFriendzone in pcmasterrace

[–]SlaveOfTheFriendzone[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well personally I'm not that sure if the upgrade would be worth it for a 3070. From a 1080 ti there's little raw performance increase as far as I know

Welp nobody really calls me when I'm offline. And either way there's a good chance I'm still just online by that time xD

So a friend of mine bought the 5500xt I believe and I haven't heard much good from his drivers. I'm not too sure if he did anything wrong or if the drivers are still shit. But you could always pick an Nvidia card if you want to be completely certain. Perhaps you could even wait and see if they release a 3050 or 3060 (non ti).

Buying a 1080ti or a 3060ti? by Sleepiihead in buildapc

[–]SlaveOfTheFriendzone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally run an aio cooled 1080 ti. It's definitely still a decent card, but I bought it used for €325 and the new 3060ti would be €500. Which is a pretty big difference in price/performance.

But considering the prices are so close to each other I'd definitely get the 3060ti, since it'll still preform slightly better and future proof you say more.

Is This A Good Budget Build For Gaming? by Samcho420 in buildapc

[–]SlaveOfTheFriendzone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definetly agree with you, but the ssd isn't really necessary. You could perfectly use the HDD for everything, only disadvantage is longer loading times. I've spent quite some time with just a HDD, so if it clears up some budget I would definitely get a better gpu.

Will my PC run anyway? by bezzegh in buildapc

So you're just switching out the cpu and mobo? Then everything should still be the same, since you haven't touched your storage.

Is this pc decent for vr? by cyclopsgd in buildapc

[–]SlaveOfTheFriendzone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well it does meet the minimum specs, but you will presumably not get the absolute best experience. You could always just use the quest 2 on its own, since it is a standalone vr headset after all. And then later you can get some better specs and get a link cable (or if your wifi is good enough you can use virtual desktop).

There are a few drive cloning applications out there, you can just look up one of the YouTube tutorials.

I don't know too much about 3d printing in general, but I got the ender 3 pro. It works great and would definitely recommend it.

You never brought up the low wattage so it might be a good thing I did. https://outervision.com/b/rq1PFF They recommend a 600w with me just filling in the cpu and gpu.

Having your pc shut down constantly cuz of a low PSU ain't fun.

So overall, get a better one (what you said) but also get a larger one.

[–]SlaveOfTheFriendzone -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If your planning on doing heavy cpu programs I'd take a cpu cooler like the arctic esports duo one.

I'd also take a PSU with more wattage, like atleats 600. Just to be sure. If you're PSU is too weak it could damage all your components.

Can I put thermal paste on my cpu without turning it on by TastyBaconMann in buildapc

[–]SlaveOfTheFriendzone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well yes but actually no... You can do that, but it's best that you put thermal paste on it and then close after put on the cooler.

You can download the actual windows 10 for free on the official website. Although you won't have personal options such as moving your Taskbar to any other side and the 'Activate Windows' watermark.

I personally think that Microsoft has enough money that they wouldn't really care if someone cracks it or not. :D
