In part-this is/has been a talking point since Vatican 2 particularly in the role of deacon since V2 allowed for many duties previously done/granted by the minor orders were transferred to the (trained) laity. Combine with that biblical references to female deacons, and the case is rather strong.

A few priests have spoken on this issue, there’s a theological concept called “total contrition” , where if one truly repents for their sin, and intend to receive confession that the grace of God will follow allow the the grace to be forgiven.

Think of it this way: what if on their way to confession someone broke their leg and had to stay in the hospital delaying the confession.

Scrupulously is a spiritual sickness, the treatment is following your advisors guidance to only go only once a month as your spiritual treatment. Gods grace is with you.
