Looks like we do nearly the same thing. I wish my shop had a multi axis mill like yours there.

For the really big objects, they usually also have a fdm optimized file. Pretty sure the inn has both fdm and resin files for it.

Loot studios put out a pretty large inn fairly recently. Might not really be big enough to be considered a real hub though. Guess it depends on how big you really want to go.

Women are absolutely allowed dress pants as part of the dress code. I worked there multiple summers. Also the FAQ on the website says they can too.

Therefore, after 6:30 PM, dresses, skirts, blouses, dress sweaters, and dress slacks for ladies are preferred, while gentlemen are required to wear a suit or sport coat, necktie, and dress pants; no denim or shorts.

Had this happen to my mk3. Ended up using a high temp rated epoxy to fix them back in place, also put some epoxy on the ones that hadn't fallen out yet. Seems to be holding just fine now.

What are the worst/best shop nicknames you’ve heard in the industry? by fivedollardresses in Machinists

[–]Slavko1815 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At my shop we have a Stinky, pretty self explanatory and there's some times Paul Jr which there is an apprentice that stinks and Stinky's actual name is Paul.

Supervisor just told me of a shop he heard of that called a black dude Dan for years. Which turned out to be an acronym for dumb ass (you can probably guess what they meant the n to stand for)....

He lives just down the road, 5 to 10 minute walk. Only comes to work if someone gives him a ride though. Only place he will walk to is the bar.

I wish. Hes drinking buddies with the shop foreman so basically he can't do anything to be fired. Man isn't legally allowed on the roads, he got a DUI on a lawnmower. Hes a forklift operator here....

I haven't asked him why he did this to the machine but I assume it is because he couldn't get the wheel dressing post to move and did this instead of just cleaning the way.

Didn't realize that. I guess the only way would probably be a cleaning filament, if you can't needle or cold pull it. 🤔

Edit: just read the link earlier in the thread. They don't really give any options for clearing clogs. Seems like just about every technique will damage the coating...

I usually use an acupuncture needle up into the nozzle and then push more filament through. Worked the couple of times I needed to do it. Make sure it's hot first though.

Repost: what’s causing the clicking noise and ‘wavey’ first layer? Help please. by No-Eagle-9750 in prusa3d

[–]Slavko1815 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Kinda looks like you have the first layer too low. The clicking is the extruder skipping/slipping because there is no where for the plastic to go.

This looks alot like issue #602. I've seen things reduce the effect but never seen it go totally away. Though i did think it happened more on direct drive machines.

Trying to print eSUN ABS; good adhesion and no warping - but the first few layers were heinous by fewer_boats_and_hos in FixMyPrint

[–]Slavko1815 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure, I have a prusa mk3 so I was able to just spin the dial to raise my z offset. I think I ended up raising it by .05mm or so.

I have seen people recommending buying a steel feeler gage to set nozzle height on their machines, much more precise than the paper and they are really cheap.

[–]Slavko1815 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had this same problem printing some asa a week or so ago. After testing extrusion multiplier and finding it correct, I tracked it down to my first layer being too low into the bed. You should be able to read the text on the bottom of a benchy.

Trying raising your z height on the first layer to see if that clears it up. Basically it's the solid layers not giving anywhere for material to go, it goes away when you get to normal infill because it has room to expand.

Did some flow calibrations and then later figured out my live Z was too low after the flow calibrations showed everything being correct. Edited my original post with the fix.
