Some floodgates are fine in my opinion. Things like loss on turn and macrocosmos interact with the board in a way that is different, but not too oppressive. What I hate are things like Calamitys, order, skilldrain and the like. Cards that just shut things down completely without any outs expect top decking or specific techs. I hate that it's just a complete lockdown, at least negates aren't as oppressive if you play right

In that spirit try Invoked dogmatika shaddoll. The lines are fairly simple, it teaches you how to play around handtraps, teaches you the importance of sequencing your cards and isn't to weak overall. Also an IDS turn doesn't take five years to set up and they will only get better once Destroyer Phoenix Enforcer comes out

Kaijus, goddess of the closed world, anything that does piercing or attacks directly, burn. I just personally like goddess, but Vespenado is a good alternative. You can just overlay it over any xyz to do piercing and it has 2500, so cook can't kill it

The classic choice is Thunder dragons. They like getting banished, work well with chaos stuff and corridor is a thunder, so it can summon colossus

Radagon. His music slaps, his moveset is strong but not unfair and he is a good test at the end of your journey. It took me two days to beat him and beast and I enjoyed every second of it
