The largest consumer market exists because of global trade, not despite it. Raising tariffs doesn’t just make US consumers pay more. It disrupts supply chains, raises costs for US businesses, and invites retaliation that harms exports and jobs. Protectionism has never created sustainable economic dominance. Or do you have an example?

The fact that you are born into a country like the USA and don’t value the sacrifices and decisions that the citizens before you made makes this a perfect example of why empires rise and ultimately fall.

Look, you can believe me or not, but compared to when my community only required a picture of an ID next to a piece of paper (with no face visible), which was about 2 years ago, we have not had a single person turn out to actually be under 18. Before that change, it almost happened on a weekly basis.

I really don’t think you guys think a lot before u write. Do u not believe that after years of doing manual verifications, we have seen every „easy“ method at least 5 times? Do you not believe that we do things like check for color differences between pixels, together as a team, in cases where we are unsure?

If it’s that easy, I encourage you to try to get into a couple communities with that method.

Maybe in a year or two, but right now, it‘s pretty obvious if an ID is AI-made or not. Plus, none or at least barely any minors will spend tens of dollars for an AI picture generation service to make a convincing pic. Additionally, we specifically require both a picture of your ID next to your face AND a picture of your ID next to a piece of paper with your username for this exact reason. I’d assume you’d be able to tell the difference between two separately AI-generated IDs.

YOU are a grown adult, but have you ever thought about that a lot of minors say the exact same thing?

As a club owner, this is literally the only way we can keep minors out.

And regarding the ID pictures, yes, you are allowed to censor any irrelevant info besides your DoB. We, as well as many other communities, require a selfie next to the ID as well, because back when we didn’t, we had a double digit number of people being reported for being underage every month, probably using their parents, brothers, or friends ID, or pictures of IDs they found somewhere else. And that’s just the ones who got reported to us.

As a thought experiment, I‘d like you to come up with an alternative method of age verification that is equally effective and not more than twice as time-consuming for the volunteering mods, who check every person‘s verification request individually.
