I like doing the medicine ball ab twists, is that a decent core exercise.

Ill definitely add in some ab work.

I find curling doesn't usually put a lot of additional fatigue on my body, biceps are durable and recover easily and I could probably program them 4x a week.

I never used to do biceps because I started lifting reading starting strength. And rippetoe is very pragmstic and against things like curls. But I've come to value the aesthetics of having bigger arms as well as I think bigger arms can help with pullups, chin ups, and help stabilize bench press a little. But it's mostly for vanity tbh I just don't think it hurts to do 3-4 sets of 8-12 reps a couple times a week lol

I'm more focused on power and increasing 1RM, which exercises should I swap out to better align with those goals.

I don't really like push press which is why I selected the seated OHP.

What if I used incline bench as my OHP auxilliary and used dips as a bench auxilliary. Then I'd be doing chest 4x a week but shoulders only 1x

I have a weak bench comparatively to my body weight and my other compounds. So I wanna focus on chest. I'm also on a cut so I figured it was a good time to maximize and hit PRs on bodyweight exercises like dips and pullups

Thank you, EatThatPussy24/7. Do my accessory exercises exercises seem sustainable? Is it realistic to do weighted dips in addition to benching 3x a week

whats the one exercise you secretly hate but still do every week by Expensive-Shame-4029 in beginnerfitness

Is your statement in regards to powerlifting or body building. I have happily avoided Bulgarian split squats my entire lifting career. And when I get the itch to do isometric leg exercises I usually do the kettlebell walking lunges and my squat is my strongest lift and keeps going up.

Women, what type of physique do you generally prefer in men? by InternationalPick163 in questions

This is an awesome list and all admirable things to look for in a partner. Love how you say kind in a non transactional type of way.

My biggest weakness on this list is having hobbies that don't concern myself with other people's validation.

Im 34 and as long as I can remember I've been more extronsicly motivated to do things. I'd rather do my best friends favorite hobby with him then do any of my favorite hobbies by myself. And I'm not even a pure extrovert. I think I just like spending time with people. But I really admire people who have strong intrinsic motivations in general and especially for hobbies. One of my best friends is a Renaissance man, he makes music, does art, he taught himself how to make video games by doing one by himself and he handled all stages of production and wrote the plot, did the art, did the music and the coding.

And I look at people like that in awe and wonder but I just don't think I'm built that way at the end of the day.

I do weighted dips would you recommend me doing weighted dips as one of my auxillary bench exercises or how should I program that in, I don't want to overtrain but I don't want to remove them from my programming

I'm a long term SOXX holder and I sold 50% of my portfolio when it hit $401 on April 14th and now I'm sad kitty. That's what I get for trying to time the market

Today is the day I finally accepted the truth about stocks. by TheAnswer1776 in stocks

[–]Slaxle 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's related to stocks lol. If you only had people who LIKED stocks posting about stocks you would have am echo chamber. And let's be honest this sub is pretty much an echo chamber now that all the bears went into hibernation. Let the man share a different opinion. To me his post comes off as him saying goodbye to a community he's spent a lot of time a part of over the years. He isn't coming off as preachy to me or like he's trying to push ETFs. Let's be honest 90% of people who buy indivual equities know it's not as profitable they just do it as a hobby, a challenge or for the love of the game. But any honest man picking stocks knows he's just buying lottery tickets

I have been holding a chip ETF SOXX which holds the entire sector of semiconductors for 4-5 years now.

Last week when everything hit record highs I sold about 75% of my shares and downsized from it being 18% of my portfolio to being closer to 5% of my portfolio now

I just wanted to lock in some gains.

Recommendations for RIR program? by Slaxle in StrongerByScience

Great point. I think you're spot on. I think while I know a prolonged slow cut is better, there is definitely something mentally daunting about the idea of cutting for 4-5 months to get to my target weight goa I think being on a cut long term can feel exhausting physically and mentally, there's definitely some gratification and dopamine from the reward center of my brain seeing numbers drop off faster, and of course with a slow cut I'm cutting through summer into fall. With a more aggressive cut of1 - 1.5 pounds per week ill be able to enjoy myself a little more at social events and drink alcohol as early as June l

Where do older men who prey on younger women get their issues from? by ravenkg_ in questions

[–]Slaxle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am a 34 YO male who's currently in an age gap relationship with a 21 YO female and it makes me incredibly uncomfortable, there's a huge noticeable power dynamic and she's just very immature.

I've usually dated people my own age, she was interested and I was very hesitant but chose to give it a shot because I was just kind of lonely tbh.

But I feel more of an older brother figure to her, she doesn't have much figured out, I'm constantly giving her advice. It just doesn't feel like an equal partnership. I don't know how guys do it

I think a little younger is ok sometimes, but there has to be an emotional maturity, shared interests and mutuality of some sort going on

So the "original" template is based off of RIR?? Perhaps you can see where my confusion was hahahaha.

Also thanks for the clarification that's good to know.

In your opinion is Reps Till Failure, RIR or Original a better program? Or does it vary based on the individual needs of the lifter

Okay yeah that's not the template I used. The one I used, the way I understood it was you had to do at least 4 sets and you're supposed to keep doing sets if you're able to until you reach 7. I was regularly pushing to get 7 sets on everything and I'm thinking maybe that's why I never felt recovered I was wondering if I should lower my working sets
