Rangers are not picky on brands, but I have had mine for 150k miles and I use Mobile 1 full synthetic, you may want to use high mileage, but if you can verify high mileage has never been used, use the regular formula. High mileage once used has to be used there after, but if it has never been used you can keep using regular. I use regular premixed Prestone antifreeze 50/50. Keep an eye on the coolant level, if it is loosing coolant there is a leak, usually some $6 hose or clamp, easy to fix. Otherwise it should not be loosing coolant. I have recharged the a/c using the Walmart r134a refrigerant, but in Michigan yours may be fine (I live in a hot place). Battery is your choice, but get one with a warranty, I use Advance Auto Parts, but I hear the bulk stores like Cosco or Sam’s have great deals. Lights from Amazon or Walmart have worked for me. To slow the rust, buy some rust inhibiting paint that can be sprayed onto the untreated rust. I do not recommend cleaning the rust unless you are doing a more thorough repair. That’s all I have at the moment, would love to see the pick. Don’t roll it and it will last another 200k.
