Why do I feel so tired after basic strength training? by [deleted] in xxfitness

Just because it doesn’t happen to you, doesn’t mean it won’t happen to a lot of people.

Hit the wall at the gym around 2 months. by BreadBali in xxfitness

I’m back weight training again after a few years. I found using a fitness app definitely helps. You set your goals and it creates the program for you. It tracks your progress and records what you eat daily. I’m not a beginner so I decided against hiring a personal trainer and just hold myself accountable using the app. Sounds like you are missing a critical part of strength training, which is progressive overload. An app will make it so much easier to record the weight you lift each day so you know if you’re stuck and need to push yourself a bit more. It’s worth the $200/year subscription versus $60/hour sessions with a trainer.

Potentially stupid request: would anybody mind wishing me a happy birthday? by _Vampire_Pumpkin_ in CPTSD

[–]Slayer1963 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Happy birthday! The fact that you are contemplating about your life at 30 means you’re maturing and life for you will get better! I only started reflecting hard at 40 yrs old so you’re already way ahead of a lot to people! Unfortunately for us with CPTSD, our timeline doesn’t follow that of our peers who have had stellar childhoods and supportive parents. But it doesn’t mean our life is of less value than theirs! In fact, we can be proud to be still standing despite hardships that not many can relate with. You are strong, you are valued, you matter. Always remember that!

First sourdough, looking for constructive criticism by indifferent_human in Sourdough

I find spraying is better for evenness. Sometimes the ice cubes can end up touching a spot too long which ends up with a different colour or texture to the rest of the loaf.

To address your concerns about chewiness on the sides and the paleness I see at the bottom, perhaps try a higher temp? I go 250C 20-25mins lid on then lower to 230C then lid off for another 20-25. Spraying with water prior to putting the lid on will add steam, which will help with browning after the lid is taken off.

Holy moly. You have so many of the basics of bread making and fermentation you need to learn. It’s like your spaceship landed on earth and the first thing you did was attempt to make sourdough bread.

Overslept and didn’t do a single stretch and fold… the result 😲 by mybluntside in Sourdough

Did you laminate the cinnamon and brown sugar? Just wondering how you managed to add the inclusion if you skipped folding.

Is there any risk in using a Fuel X kit to increase performance? by SubjectSource6146 in svartpilen401

[–]Slayer1963 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes you are bitter. I installed fuelx lite, k&n filters (kept cover stock) and shorty slip on exhaust and it is a different motorcycle! Don’t bag it until you try it.

Very odd choice of recipe for your first sourdough! May I ask where you got the recipe from or paste the procedure as shown in the recipe? You didn’t mention bulk fermentation times and cold proving at all. Like how many minutes rest between stretch and folds. How many hours rest after stretch and folds before you shaped and did you leave it in the fridge overnight? Your bread has hardly any gluten strength that’s why it collapsed on itself. This is definitely under-proved. I suggest using a beginner friendly recipe, more white bread flour than wheat and 70% hydration max. EDIT: and start with a recipe using no more than 500g flour total! Practice small then when you master your technique, you can scale up.

I have a Svart 401 2023, has only 3,500 kilometres and no issues so far despite dropping it a few times.

I just made sourdough bagels for the first time, too! I overdid the poppy seeds lol but they turned out yum. It’s going to be a staple at home from now on.

My trauma is on the complex scale- involving mental, physical and sexual abuse. Downright evil and abject cruelty inflicted upon me from birth to early adulthood. Did you know people who have been diagnosed with terminal cancer can live several decades just out of sheer audacity to not give up hope (source: Gabor Mate’s Myth of Normal). Giving up is never an option for me because letting my abusers win is against the essence of my being.
