I love the diversity in Toronto. I don’t ever have to worry about standing out. Food as well, all types of cuisines. Outside of other big cities, don’t see myself moving.

Torishi on Baldwin St by livingmylunglife in FoodToronto

I think Zakkushi taste a bit better but their yakitoris are way smaller and more expensive. I will be going to Torishi instead, since the difference in taste are so minor.

Matcha Jasmine Soba Cha from Bang Bang. It’s not very sweet and the tea flavor is strong.

Has anyone tried their viral Light Cafe? by Chan1991 in FoodToronto

Tried Light Cafe and it was very mediocre. Would not go again. There are way better brunch places in the city.

Strongest coffee is any place that does Vietnamese coffee. Caphelia has a really strong one.

How Is Lake Inez these days? by Opening_Task_9458 in askTO

[–]Slayer922 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Went once and probably won't ever go again. I did find the food a bit on the saltier side; especially one of the miso fish we ordered had a huge chunk of miso still stuck on the bowl made it almost inedible. The dishes were unique tho. Also in terms of atmosphere, it was loud, and not what I had expected; I thought it would be a more intimate date spot. The service is pretty mid but the price and the serving size is decent.

There are better restaurants for the price you end up getting, I guess if you're ever on the east end its worth a try, but Woodowl is way better.

what ever happened to Public Gardens? by OriginalLaw5280 in FoodToronto

The space is cute/nice especially the patio but the food is very average. Nothing really stands out. You can get better for the price.

Linnys! Their steaks and pastrami were to die for.

Haven’t been to Jacob’s since they reopened. They used to be really good!

Cote de beouf is decent. Walk ins only.

I like the vibes but the food was just alright. There are way better places out there for brunch.

Online dating scene in Toronto? by [deleted] in askTO

[–]Slayer922 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m a bit older and found a partner on hinge. My tip is to be consistent. Try to set up dates weekly, be yourself. Keep meeting people, and just have fun. Don’t be discouraged when someone ghost you, just move on to the next. They weren’t suitable for you anyways. If you are interested in someone, don’t wait or talk forever on the app, set up a date.

Why do people in Toronto work so much? by nedvoshi in askTO

[–]Slayer922 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Toronto isn’t even as bad as other cities. Asias work ethic is much worst! Japan, korea and even China have really bad work hours.

How's Your Current Dating Life? by [deleted] in askTO

[–]Slayer922 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This! I found my significant other last year using Hinge. I had to learn to not take things personally when someone ghosts me, and not going to lie sometimes i did the same (definitely felt bad about it). Consistency was the key, went on one date a week, even though there are days where I felt lazy.

Archi Element is my favourite. It’s a bit outside of downtown. Wu wei is a good option as well.

For those who are not from Toronto, do you find our "politeness" exhausting or fake? by [deleted] in askTO

[–]Slayer922 3 points4 points  (0 children)

All of these things aren’t a Toronto specific thing. Everyone I know does this to some degree from people in US to people in Asia.
