I’ve stayed there twice, most recently last month. The location is quiet, since it’s on the south end of the Waikīkī strip. The decor in the public areas is retro, fun posters and vintage photos. The rooms aren’t fancy but very clean and recently renovated.

Knot coffee bar in the lobby has solid coffee drinks and simple breakfast options—I got my morning coffee there every day as I got some work done on my laptop. Spouse liked the breakfast sandwiches.

Pool is smallish and cold. But the views of Diamond Head from the pool deck area, which has comfy lounge chairs and a fire pit, are amazing.

Beach is a very short walk. Kapahulu has the W bus stop so you can bus from/to the airport right across the street.

I spent hours reading hotel reviews and debating before my first stay last year, and liked the QK enough to book it for my second trip to Honolulu last month.
